SJC gold bar price sets new record, trading at 130.6 million VND

The domestic price of SJC gold bars increased sharply, reaching an all-time high of VND130.6 million/tael, due to the influence of world gold prices and inflation data in the US.

This morning (August 30), domestic gold prices simultaneously increased by 1.3 million VND/tael and are currently trading around 130.6 million VND.

This is the highest price ever.

At 11:00 a.m., SJC gold price at Saigon Jewelry Company and Doji Company was listed at 129.1-130.6 million VND/tael (buy/sell), while at Phu Quy Company it was announced at 128.1-130.6 million VND/tael.

Thus, the price of SJC gold at domestic enterprises increased by 1.3 million VND/tael.

At the same time, the price of gold rings at Phu Quy Company was announced at 122.2-125.2 million VND/tael (buy/sell), an increase of 1.5 million VND; while at Bao Tin Minh Chau Company, the company announced from 122.6-125.6 million VND/tael, also an increase of 1.4 million VND/tael compared to the previous closing price.

This morning, the difference in buying/selling prices is still maintained at a high level by businesses, in which SJC gold is about 1.5 million VND/tael, and ring gold is 3 million VND/tael.

In the world, the precious metal fluctuated around 3,412 USD/ounce, up 28 USD/ounce compared to the same time last session. This price is equivalent to 110 million VND/tael when converted according to the USD exchange rate at Vietcombank , nearly 20 million VND/tael lower than the domestic gold price.

The biggest driver of gold prices this session was U.S. inflation data. According to government data released on August 29, U.S. inflation remained stable in July 2025, despite earlier warnings from Fed Chairman Jerome Powell that tariffs would cause consumer prices to rise.

The personal consumption expenditures (PCE) price index, the Fed's preferred inflation gauge, rose 2.6% year over year, in line with analysts' forecasts and unchanged from June's annual pace. On a monthly basis, prices rose 0.2%, down from the previous month's 0.3% gain. If July's pace holds over the next 12 months, inflation would fall to about 2.4%.
