Coca-Cola Vietnam Company, Teach for Vietnam Company and Linh Trung Ward People's Committee opened the EkoSchool Course: Skills for the Future
The program is completely free for students from 11 to 13 years old, with priority given to children of informal workers such as scrap collectors, those working in hazardous and dangerous jobs... With a scale of 70 to 80 students, the course is divided into many small classes suitable for the students' schedules, the program ensures quality teaching and personalized support suitable for each student.
The highlight of the program is that the content is designed based on the competency framework of the 2018 General Education Program and the Learning Compass 2030 orientation proposed by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). The course helps students develop three core competency groups: Autonomy and self-learning: inspires the spirit of active learning, knowing how to ask questions, seek information and take responsibility for their own learning; Creative problem-solving skills: students are encouraged to think critically, come up with flexible and creative solutions in practical situations; Communication and collaboration skills: build the ability to work in groups, share ideas and communicate effectively in diverse environments.
Students enthusiastically participate in classroom activities.
The program content integrates academic knowledge and lively practical activities, through diverse modules on STEAM ( Science , Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics), design thinking (Design for Change), visual arts, improvisational drama and getting acquainted with artificial intelligence (AI). Lessons are built in an experiential direction, helping students develop comprehensively in both thinking and practical skills.
Mr. Bui Khanh Nguyen, Deputy General Director of External Relations, Communications and Sustainable Development of Coca-Cola Vietnam Company, said: “In more than 30 years of operation in Vietnam, Coca-Cola Vietnam Beverage Company has always been steadfast in its commitment to creating sustainable values for the community. With the belief thateducation is the foundation for positive change and long-term development, we have been investing in strategic community initiatives, including the EkoSchool program. Through this program, Coca-Cola Vietnam Beverage Company wishes to become a companion with the young generation on the journey to discover and develop their own potential, thereby opening the door to learning and comprehensive development in a world that is changing strongly under the impact of technology and innovation.”
This year's summer course is part of a series of three training programs held throughout 2025, including spring, summer and fall courses. Previously, in late April and early May, the Spring Course was deployed with a special training class for residents who are Heads of Neighborhoods in Linh Trung Ward, with the theme "Make videos and posters on your phone". This is one of the efforts to enhance the communication capacity of grassroots officials, contributing to building a dynamic community, proactive in spreading positive information.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Quynh Trang, Executive Director, Representative of Teaching for Vietnam Co., Ltd. shared: "With the vision of building a humane, creative and practical education, we are honored to accompany Coca-Cola Vietnam Company and Linh Trung Ward People's Committee in the EkoSchool program. We believe that when accessing open, diverse and modern learning models, students, especially children in difficult circumstances, will have the opportunity to develop the necessary skills to adapt to the future. Each class not only imparts knowledge but also inspires, helping children understand that they are the ones who create a better future for the community and society."
In addition to regular classes in the summer and fall, the program also offers students a variety of hands-on experiences, such as visiting the Coca-Cola Factory to learn about the modern production process, or making ice cream at Celato – where they can explore the combination of culinary arts and science. These activities not only help students expand their awareness of the world around them, but also inspire their love of learning and exploring future career fields. At the end of the course, students will participate in a product presentation contest, a creative playground to demonstrate their learning journey and spread ideas that contribute positively to the community.
EkoSchool contributes to fostering resilient communities – where people are empowered to learn, grow and create a sustainable future together.
2025 marks the second consecutive year that the EkoSchool community learning model has been deployed in Linh Trung ward, following the success of the first STEAM summer class in 2024. EkoSchool is currently one of four typical centers in the network of eight EkoCenters that Coca-Cola Vietnam Company is operating nationwide - which not only provides free clean water to the community, but also acts as a connection point for education and skills development initiatives. Here, children and women have the opportunity to access digital skills training programs, startups, STEAM and artificial intelligence (AI), and activities to raise environmental awareness. It is models like EkoSchool that are contributing to fostering self-reliant communities - where people are empowered to learn, develop and together create a sustainable future./.
