After nearly 6 months of connection, on the afternoon of June 8, the network of Vietnamese intellectuals studying, living and working in Berlin and surrounding areas was officially launched for the first time.
This is one of the activities to implement Resolution 57-NQ/TW dated December 22, 2024 of the Politburo , mobilizing the scientific and technical team to contribute to the development of science and technology, innovation and national digital transformation.
According to a VNA correspondent in Berlin, more than 30 intellectuals studying, researching and working in the fields of science and technology, mainly in the fields of construction, healthcare, information technology, environment and artificial intelligence, attended the meeting chaired by the Representative Office of the Ministry of Science and Technology in Berlin in coordination with representatives of the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Education and Training.
Counselor for Science and Technology Ha Thi Lam Hong outlined the main points in Resolution 57, identifying science and technology, innovation and digital transformation as strategic breakthroughs to help Vietnam develop rapidly and sustainably. In particular, Vietnamese intellectuals abroad are an important force that is inseparable from the nation and the country.
Over the years, this team has made many contributions to building and defending the Fatherland and has always received attention and high appreciation from our Party and State.

The team of more than 500,000 overseas Vietnamese intellectuals, many of whom hold important positions in research institutes, universities, and prestigious business corporations around the world, is a valuable source of scientific human resources for innovation in Vietnam, in which the community of Vietnamese scientists in Germany has made significant contributions.
Sharing at the first launch, Vietnamese intellectuals all expressed their willingness to connect, support and propose solutions for cooperation in science and technology, innovation and technology transfer between Vietnamese and German partners.
Besides the advantages, Vietnamese scientists have raised many issues related to the legal framework, financial support mechanisms and policies to attract overseas Vietnamese intellectuals.
Dr. Nguyen Manh Cuong, lecturer at the Berlin School of Business and Innovation, said that knowledge networks like this are valuable opportunities for Vietnamese experts, scientists, and entrepreneurs in Germany in general and the Berlin region in particular to share, exchange, and promote cooperation in the fields of innovation and technology.
Dr. Cuong expressed his wish to regularly organize meetings like this so that the network can connect and operate effectively.
Dr. Phan Dat, lecturer at TU Berlin University, shared that Vietnamese intellectuals abroad have many ways to contribute, not necessarily returning home or working in the country.
Currently, there are many young Vietnamese intellectuals living and working abroad, in many different fields, still contributing very effectively to the country.
In developed countries, young Vietnamese scientists and intellectuals have a scientific research environment and good conditions for creative development, especially in key areas such as: Artificial Intelligence, digital transformation, digital economy... They are very enthusiastic and want to contribute to the country's socio-economic development.
Therefore, according to Dr. Dat, we can propose specific research projects so that scientists know what to do and can contribute online or in person. It is necessary to reduce administrative procedures to create the most favorable conditions for overseas intellectuals to have the opportunity to contribute to the development of the country.
The participating members all agreed to continue expanding the network in Berlin and its surrounding areas in 2025. Not only attracting and gathering more experts, intellectuals, scientists and technologists from all fields, the members plan to meet once a month to discuss and propose specific plans, such as joint research cooperation with research institutes and universities in Berlin and its surrounding areas; consulting, policy planning and training domestic science and technology human resources, acting as a bridge to open up and expand cooperation with German science and technology organizations./.
