Artist Thanh Luu (Tran Huu Trang Theater) presents gifts to poor artists at the Southern Amateur Music - Cai Luong Exchange Stage of Tan Binh Cultural Center
In the warm and sincere atmosphere of a regular art activity, the Tan Binh Amateur - Cai Luong Exchange Club has just continued to carry out a noble act by giving gifts to support veteran artists who are facing difficulties: artist Phuong Binh, the family of the late artist Quoc Tram and artist Ngoc Nga.
Appreciation for artists who dedicate themselves to reformed opera
Previously, the Club visited and presented gifts to famous senior artists such as: People's Artist Hung Minh, Meritorious Artist Thanh Nguyet, Meritorious Artist To Kim Hong... Artist Thanh Luu - Chairman of the Club said that these were small gifts, but contained gratitude. It was a precious gift for those who have devoted their whole lives to the Cai Luong stage, to the traditional art of the nation.
Behind this charitable activity is artist Thanh Luu – who has quietly and persistently built the Tan Binh Amateur - Cai Luong Exchange Club. This is a space filled with artistic love, where like-minded souls can come together to ignite their passion for amateur music and Cai Luong – traditional art forms that are deeply attached to the cultural identity of the South.

A place to preserve the spirit of the talented and share love
The club is not only an artistic playground, but also a place to connect hearts. Through each exchange and performance, artists and audiences are relived with the sweet vọng cổ verses, the old tuong plays that echo the soul of the nation.
At the same time, this is also where artist Thanh Luu and his colleagues carry out the mission of spreading love - by paying practical attention to the elderly, sick, and disadvantaged artists. These are gifts, warm visits from colleagues, not letting anyone be forgotten in life.

Sending all love to the artists/stars of reformed opera
During the recent exchange, the attendees were moved to see artist Phuong Binh - a once famous handsome actor, with a kind face and calm demeanor, quietly receiving a meaningful gift from the Club. He was the winner of the Thanh Tam Gold Medal in 1967 - the most prestigious award of the cai luong stage at that time. He is known for many excellent roles, but deeply imprinted in the hearts of the audience is his warm voice in the ancient duet "Que anh, que em" - a masterpiece by composer Trong Nguyen that he and Meritorious Artist My Chau performed after the country's reunification. That song still resonates on the radio waves today, still in the memories of many cai luong lovers as a testament to the golden age.
On behalf of the family of the late artist Quoc Tram - Mr. Liem - the son of the gentle and honest artist, who devoted his life to the reformed theater, was moved to send his thanks to the Club:
"Our family is truly touched by the affection of Mr. Thanh Luu and the members of the Club. During difficult times, receiving attention from former colleagues and people who share the same passion is extremely valuable to the family."

Artist Phuong Binh also shared in a slow voice, but his eyes still shone with emotion: "I didn't think I would still be remembered like this. Receiving the gift today, I feel like I have been given more strength. Thank you to our young colleagues, thank you to those who still love Cai Luong and don't forget old artists like me."
During the gift giving ceremony, the Club gave gifts to artist Ngoc Nga (actress of Tran Huu Trang's shock troupe) who is currently having a difficult time raising a sick child alone.
Continuation and spread of heritage
Don ca tai tu – recognized by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity – is not only an art form, but also a way for Southern people to preserve their soul and identity through each song and instrument.
Cai Luong, with a history of more than 100 years, has touched the hearts of many generations of Vietnamese people. In the current context, when traditional theater is facing many challenges, activities like that of the Tan Binh Cai Luong - Talent Exchange Club are a persistent effort to keep the fire burning - not only to keep the fire of art, but also to keep humanity.

Artist Thanh Luu, the leader, not only organized the playground but also quietly mobilized resources, so that each exchange session was not only about art but also about charity.
When love of the profession is the fulcrum
Perhaps, an exchange program, a gift cannot change fate, but it can warm a heart, and that is what art always aims for - connecting people with emotions, with sincerity and with gratitude.
From an artist’s heart – a journey connecting heritage and humanity. That journey is quiet, but persistent, and deserves our recognition as a humane beauty in everyday life.
The club includes young artists: Yen Khoa (HTV Bronze Bell Award 2023), Nguyen Thanh Truong (Champion of VOH Golden Rice Competition 2022), Thuy Trang (third prize of Golden Rice Competition 2022), Tan Xuyen (fourth prize of Golden Rice Competition 2024)...
