Jennie caused controversy for wearing "5-toed" sandals as if she was barefoot at the airport

(Dan Tri) - From a somewhat picky workout product, Jennie's "split-toe" sandals became the most popular search keyword on Korea's Naver portal.

Appearing at the airport to prepare for Blackpink's next two shows in Los Angeles (USA), Jennie continued to become the center of attention thanks to her minimalist yet unique fashion style.

The female idol chose a comfortable outfit including a blue snow-patterned knit sweater from Young N Sang, combined with sweatpants and a matching gray baseball cap from Supreme.

However, the detail that has caused the most discussion among netizens is the special pair of slippers that Jennie is wearing. It is designed to simulate the human foot with 5 separate compartments for each toe.

The shoes Jennie chose are the V-Soul model from the brand Vibram five fingers - a company specializing in producing shoes for physical activities such as trekking, pilates or yoga - priced at around 120 USD (more than 3 million VND).

The design of the sandals includes 5 separate compartments, hugging each toe, helping the wearer feel the ground clearly, similar to walking barefoot. The sole is made of anti-slip rubber, the body of the sandals is a light, breathable mesh fabric, suitable for walking, yoga or light exercise.

Before Jennie wore them to the airport, this sandal model was mainly familiar to the community pursuing a minimalist lifestyle and practicing natural exercises. No one expected that such a special design could become a trend after just one appearance with a member of the group Blackpink.

Not only Jennie, many Korean artists such as Shin Min Ah and Lee Hyori also actively promote this trend, turning sandals originally for the gym into stylish accessories on the street.

The sandals immediately "sold out" after Jennie wore them at the airport (Photo: Vibram).

Just hours after a series of photos of Jennie at the airport went viral on social media and local news sites, the shoe model immediately "sold out" on many domestic retail platforms.

Even Jennie's sweater and shoes, priced at 420,000 won (about 7.9 million VND), quickly sold out, proving the female idol's strong fashion influence.

Flip-flops are convenient but quite “difficult” because of their unique shape. Jennie has delicately balanced them by pairing them with loose-fitting sweatpants, a light woven shirt and a simple white bag. Many stylists consider this a fashion formula worth learning for this summer.

Not only leading the trend, Jennie also shows the ability to "elevate" difficult-to-match items into personal fashion icons. From the gym to the airport, the 5-toe sandals are both a sports accessory and a new style statement for the modern young generation.
