Cai Be District: Launching the 5th model new rural commune

(ABO) On June 11, Cai Be District People's Committee held a ceremony to announce the Decision of the Chairman of Tien Giang Provincial People's Committee recognizing Hau My Phu commune as meeting the model new rural (NTM) standards in 2025. This is the 5th commune of Cai Be district to achieve the model NTM standard.

From the premise of successfully building a commune that meets the new rural standards in 2020 and advanced new rural standards in 2022, the Party Committee and government of Hau My Phu commune continue to implement many solutions to maintain and improve the quality and effectiveness of the criteria.

Identifying income criteria as one of the key and core criteria to promote the completion of other criteria. Therefore, right from the beginning of implementing the construction of the model new rural area, Hau My Phu commune has focused on implementing many positive and drastic solutions to increase per capita income.

Comrade Tran Thanh Nguyen, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Tien Giang Provincial People's Council, awarded Certificates of Merit from the Provincial People's Committee to collectives and individuals with many contributions in building Hau My Phu commune to meet model new-style rural standards.

Currently, the average income per capita of the commune has reached nearly 84.5 million VND/person/year (an increase of more than 47.6 million VND compared to the year of launching the NTM and an increase of 28 million VND compared to the time of launching the advanced NTM). Up to now, the multidimensional poverty rate of the commune has decreased to 0.6%.

Currently, 100% of households in the commune use clean water, hygienic toilets, bathrooms and safe electricity; 96.2% of houses meet the standards of the Ministry of Construction , the commune has no households with temporary or dilapidated houses; the rate of people participating in health insurance is 95.3%; 100% of commune roads, inter-hamlet roads and alleys are concreted and asphalted, ensuring no mud in the rainy season.

To build a model new-style rural commune, Hau My Phu Commune People's Committee chose My Phu A Hamlet to build a "Smart Hamlet" model. The commune has fixed broadband infrastructure (optical cable), mobile broadband network covering 100% of the hamlet. The commune has installed cameras at the entrances and exits covering all 3 hamlets, reaching a rate of 100%.

Determining that building a new rural area has a starting point and no end point, Hau My Phu commune immediately started implementing the criteria for a model new rural area with the high determination of the Party Committee, government and people. The highlight in building a model new rural area in Hau My Phu commune must mention the results of the outstanding field, which is the field of environmental landscape.

Up to now, the rate of waste collection and treatment in the commune has reached 96.7%, an increase of 60.5% compared to the time of launching the new rural commune in 2020 and an increase of 24.5% when launching the advanced new rural commune in 2022. In addition, 75.4% of households in the commune classify solid waste at source, an increase of more than 25% compared to the time of launching the new rural commune and an increase of more than 15% compared to the time of launching the advanced new rural commune.

In addition, Hau My Phu commune also chose the fields of digital transformation and security and order as outstanding criteria in building a model new rural area in the locality.

On this occasion, the People's Committee of Tien Giang province awarded a Certificate of Recognition for the commune meeting the model NTM standards and a symbolic plaque to donate welfare works worth 2 billion VND to Hau My Phu commune. In addition, the People's Committee of the province, Cai Be district and Hau My Phu commune awarded many Certificates of Merit to collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in building Hau My Phu commune to meet the model NTM standards by 2025.
