Many public high schools in Ho Chi Minh City have had their benchmark scores increase/decrease quite sharply compared to last year.

Of which, Tran Dai Nghia Secondary and High School had the highest increase in admission score with 4.5 points compared to last year, becoming the school with the highest admission score this year with 24.5 points.

Tran Khai Nguyen High School increased by 1.25 points.

Some other schools increased by 0.25 to 0.75 points.

According to VietNamNet statistics, more than 70 schools in Ho Chi Minh City have reduced their 10th grade benchmark scores. Of which, Gia Dinh High School's benchmark score decreased by 4.25 points compared to last year and "flew" out of the top 10 schools with the highest benchmark scores.

Nguyen Thi Dieu High School had the deepest decrease (4.75 points) compared to last year and is in the top schools with the lowest standard scores this year.

Cu Chi High School reduced 4 benchmark points compared to last year.

Similarly, Ngo Gia Tu High School also dropped 3.5 points and is in the top schools with the lowest benchmark scores this year.

Dien Hong Secondary and High School reduced 3.25 benchmark points compared to last year.

Nguyen Hien High School and Tan Tuc High School also decreased by 3.5 points compared to last year.

Candidates for grade 10 in Ho Chi Minh City take 3 exams: Math, Literature, English. Candidates for specialized schools take an additional exam in Specialized subjects. Candidates for the integrated English program take an integrated English subject.

The admission score for grade 10 high school is usually the total score of the following subjects:

Admission score = Literature score + English score + Math score + Priority points, incentive points (if any).

In 2025, 76,435 students in Ho Chi Minh City registered for the 10th grade exam in 2025. Candidates for public grade 10 exams will take the Literature and Math exams in 120 minutes, and English in 90 minutes. Candidates applying to Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted and Tran Dai Nghia High School for the Gifted will take an additional 150-minute specialized subject exam. Candidates wishing to take the integrated English grade 10 exam will take the integrated exam in 150 minutes.

The quota for public schools in Ho Chi Minh City this year is 70,070. Thus, only more than 6,000 candidates were eliminated.
