More than 100 Dak Nong farmers trained in sustainable pepper development

On the afternoon of June 10, the Vietnam Pepper and Spice Association (VPSA) coordinated with export enterprises to train Dak Nong farmers on sustainable pepper development.

The training session took place at Bechamp Dak Nong Organic Agricultural Cooperative, Truong Xuan Commune, Dak Song District. More than 100 farmers and members of Bechamp Dak Nong Cooperative from districts and Gia Nghia City participated.

Farmers and cooperative members have access to information on MRLs in pepper and warnings from import markets. Identification of tarpaulins that are at risk of causing Sudan contamination and guidance on safe pepper drying and storage procedures.

Bechamp Dak Nong Cooperative and export enterprises discussed with people about experiences in safe pepper production and lessons learned from cases of returned goods.

Many farmers, representatives of local authorities, cooperatives, and businesses attended the training.

The training helped farmers in key pepper growing areas raise awareness about cultivation, processing, preservation and prevention of risks of chemical contamination such as sudan in products.

The event is a series of activities of VPSA and export enterprises contributing to effectively preventing the risk of pepper being contaminated with pesticides right from the initial production stage at households in key growing areas including: Dak Nong, Dak Lak, Gia Lai, Dong Nai, Binh Phuoc, Ba Ria - Vung Tau .
