Vietnam Wedding Tourism Conference (VDW 2024) was held from June 5-7 in Da Nang City with the participation of 50 most prominent brands in the wedding tourism industry of Vietnam and the world .
Ms. Nguyen Ha Van - founder of The Planners, co-founder of VDW 2024, shared her wish that this will become an annual forum for Vietnamese wedding event organizers to exchange, discuss and share information and experience in building and developing wedding tourism in the country.
The wedding tourism trend is still quite new in Vietnam, while the world wedding tourism market is growing 32.8% per year, with a total value estimated at more than 101 billion USD in 2023, increasing to 134 billion USD in 2027, according to Destination Wedding Global Report 2023.
The Asia Pacific region alone contributes 40.52% to the global wedding market, with an annual growth rate of 16.48%. Along with Indonesia, Thailand, Maldives, and India, Vietnam is emerging as an attractive wedding destination in the region.
VDW 2024 is hosted by the Department of Tourism of Da Nang City, introducing to 20 international wedding planner representatives and 30 leading wedding tourism organizations in Vietnam the potential of Da Nang wedding tourism along with the opportunities and challenges for destinations in this billion-dollar segment, and at the same time providing information on the city's wedding tourism development orientation through the Da Nang Wedding Tourism Development Plan 2024 - 2025
Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoai An - Deputy Director of the Department of Tourism of Da Nang City said: "Wedding tourism will be a new product that the Da Nang tourism industry is focusing on developing in 2024 with the message Da Nang - Where happiness begins. Da Nang is a pioneer destination in the country with orientation and a well-planned strategy for developing wedding tourism products, attracting high-quality customer markets, in addition to MICE and golf products".
According to the Organizing Committee of VDW Congress 2024, Da Nang was chosen as the first place to hold the Vietnam Wedding Conference 2024 because it is one of the most favorite destinations for domestic and foreign couples. A friendly city with diverse natural landscapes and beautiful long beaches, a convenient location for traveling, rich and attractive cuisine, Da Nang was also voted the most livable city in Vietnam.
