This is a creativeeducational activity, aiming to inspire pride in local culture and history, as well as help students practice presentation skills, video editing, and enhance their understanding of heritage.

Participants are students in grades 6, 7, and 8 of the school. They will play the role of “little tour guides”, filming and editing short videos introducing the cultural, historical, and architectural values of the Ho Dynasty Citadel as well as the life, activities, craft villages, festivals, customs, and specialties of Vinh Loc.

Each clip must be 3 to 5 minutes long, using images and documents newly taken during the contest launch. The narration must be vivid, creative, and bilingual in Vietnamese and English to expand accessibility. After completion, the videos will be sent to the Organizing Committee and officially posted on the TikTok channel "Ho Dynasty Citadel World Heritage" from September 20 to November 30, 2025.

According to the rules, entries will be judged on a 100-point scale, with 50 points for content, images, voiceover and creativity; 30 points for likes and 20 points for shares on TikTok.

The prize structure includes: 1 First prize, 2 Second prizes, 3 Third prizes and 6 Consolation prizes. The Organizing Committee may consider adding additional prizes or other rewards depending on the actual situation.

According to Mr. Nguyen Ba Linh, Director of the Ho Dynasty Citadel Heritage Conservation Center, the contest is not only a creative playground but also contributes significantly to educating the younger generation about cultural preservation awareness.

“We hope the contest will inspire pride, love for the homeland and raise awareness of heritage values among the student community, who will continue to preserve and spread national culture,” Mr. Linh shared.

The contest “I am a Heritage Guide of my hometown” is also an effective experimental model in applying digital platforms such as TikTok to heritage education activities, while contributing to promoting the image of the Ho Dynasty Citadel relic to the domestic and international communities.

Built in 1397 under the reign of King Ho Quy Ly, the Ho Dynasty Citadel is one of the few remaining stone citadels in Southeast Asia. The structure is considered an architectural marvel of the 14th century, with large stone blocks weighing tens of tons firmly assembled without the need for adhesives.

In 2011, the Ho Dynasty Citadel was officially recognized by UNESCO as a World Cultural Heritage, thanks to its outstanding global value in urban planning, stone construction techniques and historical significance. This is now a typical destination in the journey to explore the cultural heritage of Thanh Hoa.
