With content reflecting the heroic fight of Uncle Ho's soldiers, the film "The Scent of Burning Grass" has helped the young generation of Ha Tinh review the glorious revolutionary fighting tradition of the nation.

On the afternoon of December 4, the Ha Tinh Provincial Cultural - Cinema Center coordinated with Huong Khe High School to organize a screening of the film "The Scent of Burning Grass". The program is part of a series of propaganda activities to celebrate the 79th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 - December 22, 2023) and the 34th anniversary of the National Defense Day (December 22, 1989 - December 22, 2023).

The screening of the film “The Scent of Burning Grass” was attended by more than 600 students and teachers of Huong Khe High School.

The film “The Scent of Burning Grass” is a cinematic work based on the diary “Forever 20” by Martyr Nguyen Van Thac. The film vividly and vividly depicts the 81-day and night battle to defend the ancient citadel of Quang Tri in 1972 by our army and people.

The film is a realistic slice of war and the image of ordinary, familiar but resilient soldiers. They are young men in their late teens and early twenties, full of dreams and ambitions, but in response to the sacred call of the Fatherland, they volunteered to go to war, fought bravely, and sacrificed for peace and national independence...

The film “The Scent of Burning Grass” was written by the late poet Hoang Nhuan Cam, directed by Nguyen Huu Muoi, co-produced by Diep Van Film Studio and Vietnam Feature Film Studio in 2012.

After its release, the film was highly appreciated by both the public and experts and won 4 Golden Kite Awards in 2012 including: Excellent Film, Excellent Screenplay, Excellent Music and Excellent Cinematography. This film was also chosen to represent Vietnam at the Oscars for the Best Foreign Language Film category.

It is known that after organizing the film screening at Huong Khe High School, the Provincial Cultural - Cinema Center will bring "The Scent of Burning Grass" to 4 other schools to serve students and teachers, including: Ham Nghi High School (Huong Khe), Nguyen Thi Minh Khai High School (Duc Tho), Le Huu Trac High School (Huong Son), Nguyen Thi Bich Chau High School (Ky Anh district).
