Amifarm Moc Chau business household was established on June 8, 2018 in sub-area 34, Tan Yen commune, specializing in dairy farming and processing dairy products. It is the first farm in Vietnam to successfully apply Japanese microbiological technology in dairy farming, aiming for pure, high-quality products and a sustainable ecosystem.
With a herd of 28 cows, providing 220 kg of fresh milk per day, in addition to cooperating with dairy farmers, producing fresh milk products that meet VietGAP, GlobalGAP, CODEX, IFOAM, ISO standards, to process into traditional Amifarm yogurt (in cans, jars, bottles) and fresh milk, cheese..., not only serving local people and tourists, but also distributing to agents in Hanoi , Hai Phong and many northern provinces. However, traditional yogurt has a short shelf life, needs to be refrigerated and is difficult to transport long distances, so it is limited in expanding the market.
To increase product value, in early 2025, Amifarm invested in the production of dried yogurt and was supported by the Center for Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion of Son La province with 288 million VND from the Project "Supporting the application of advanced machinery and equipment in the production and processing of dried yogurt", buying a freeze dryer with a capacity of 70 kg/batch, allowing the production of 3,600 kg of dried yogurt per year.
Taking us to visit the production area, Mr. Nguyen Quang Vinh, owner of Amifarm business, said: The freeze dryer operates automatically through the following steps: Freezing at -40°C, reducing pressure to sublimate ice crystals and separate water; creating dry yogurt with humidity below 4%; preserving flavor, quality and probiotics. The product is easy to preserve, can be used for 12 months, reducing 90% of volume and weight, saving costs and increasing competitive advantage. Currently, dry yogurt products are distributed through large chains of stores, such as Homefood, Hano Farm, Home Farm, Khoe 365 Mart, Green Food, 2food and Countryside Food in Hanoi, serving the needs of consumers in and outside the province.
The project “Supporting the application of advanced machinery and equipment in the production and processing of dried yogurt” helps Amifarm increase product value, consume 36,000 kg of fresh milk each year, support dozens of dairy farming households. At the same time, it creates jobs for 10 direct workers, with an income of 9 - 12 million VND/month and many indirect workers in the supply chain.
Mr. Dao Van Quang, Deputy Director of the Provincial Center for Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion, said: Although the industrial promotion budget only accounts for 8% of the total investment, it has helped Amifarm complete the production line, bringing in revenue of 7.2 billion VND, showing clear effectiveness in promoting the local economy .
The project "Supporting the application of advanced machinery and equipment in the production and processing of dried yogurt" at Amifarm Moc Chau not only promotes production but also contributes to the development of the economy, tourism and sustainable agriculture.
