Digital transformation for small traders is one of the solutions oriented in the Government's National E-commerce Development Plan for the period 2025-2030. The main goal of this strategy is to narrow the development gap between regions, especially helping small traders in traditional markets have the opportunity to access digital technology and participate in the e-commerce ecosystem.

According to Decision No. 645/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister , the National E-commerce Development Plan for the 2021-2025 period also emphasizes the implementation of digital transformation support programs for small and medium-sized enterprises, including small traders and individual business households.

The application of digital transformation and e-commerce not only helps small businesses expand their sales channels and reach a larger market, but also reduces operating costs, improves work efficiency, and improves customer satisfaction.

Digital transformation also helps small businesses quickly grasp consumer trends, thereby making reasonable business decisions. More importantly, it creates equal business opportunities for small businesses, whether in remote areas or big cities, contributing to eliminating geographical distance in participating in the digital economy .

With the goal of accompanying and supporting traditional market traders in digital transformation, on June 14, the Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy (Ministry of Industry and Trade) will announce the digital transformation program for traditional market traders within the framework of the Workshop "Cashless payment: Driving force for digital economic growth" co-organized by Tuoi Tre Newspaper, Payment Department in coordination with the Department of Industry and Trade of Ho Chi Minh City under the direction of the State Bank of Vietnam and the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City.

The digital transformation program for traditional market traders will not only help traditional market traders access technology but also provide them with essential tools to manage and develop their businesses. Activities within the framework of the program will include digital skills training courses, digital transformation fairs in provinces and cities, and a call for cooperation to create a community of “Digital Transformation Traders” to share experiences, knowledge and successful business models.

In addition, the program will also provide solution models such as livestream sales, using sales management software, along with cashless payment methods and product promotion via e-commerce platforms through a digital transformation guidebook for small traders. These changes help small traders improve their sales processes, enhance service quality, expand their consumer markets, thereby increasing profits and affirming their position in the digital economy.
