Instructions for checking in with VNeID at Da Nang airport

DNVN - On July 18, Da Nang International Airport announced that passengers can check in for flights without documents through Face ID authentication on the VNeID application at Da Nang airport.

Implementing a long-term strategy to build a smart, modern airport, Da Nang International Airport has officially deployed a biometric check-in system, providing a seamless, fast, convenient and safe flight experience for passengers.

At the boarding gate, passengers stand in a designated position and look into the camera for identification by the system.

Accordingly, passengers flying domestically on Vietnam Airlines and Vietjet Air flights from Da Nang airport can use biometrics on the VNeID platform to check in instead of presenting documents as before. This is an important step in modernizing the Vietnamese aviation system, affirming Da Nang's position as one of the leading airports in high-tech application.

To use VNeID during check-in, passengers follow three steps. At the check-in step, passengers open the VNeID application on their personal phone, select Other services → Aviation procedures → Online check-in and follow the instructions on the screen.

After completing online check-in, passengers continue to move to the security check area. Passengers can also check in and register facial data at check-in counters 05, 06 and counter 28.

Passengers arriving at the security check area are equipped with a biometric system (1 point at aisle 3 - Passenger Terminal T1), stand in the guided position with footprints, look directly at the camera screen for the system to perform facial recognition. After the system successfully authenticates and opens the door, passengers continue to move into the security screening area.

At the boarding gate, passengers do the same: stand in a designated position, look at the camera for the system to recognize them. After successful authentication, the door will automatically open and passengers will board the plane without having to come into contact with staff.

Da Nang International Airport recommends that, in order to facilitate the VNeID check-in process, passengers need to update their VNeID level 2 electronic identification account and ensure they are using the latest application version (only applicable to passengers aged 14 and over).

Download and update the latest mobile application of Vietnam Airlines or Vietjet Air to support quick information confirmation. Bring valid identification documents (CCCD, passport...) as backup in case the biometric system has technical problems.

Da Nang International Airport said that in the coming time, it will continue to cooperate closely with related units to expand the scope of application of biometric technology, while optimizing the system to meet the increasing travel needs of passengers. Thereby contributing to the journey of national digital transformation in the aviation sector.
