“Journey of Faith” in Dien Ban

Recently, the Town Youth Union - Vietnam Youth Union of Dien Ban town has coordinated to organize the program "Journey of Faith", contributing to helping disadvantaged youth overcome their inferiority complex, reintegrate into the community, and become useful people for society.

The model “Journey with faith” is implemented to target reformed youth who have just completed their prison sentences, and slow-moving youth who are at risk of breaking the law. With a sense of responsibility, Dien Ban City Youth Union has closely followed each grassroots level of the union to grasp the thoughts, aspirations, and circumstances of the youth in order to have an appropriate approach.

Mr. Tran Cong Trung - a reformed youth in Xuan Ky village, Dien Quang commune, needs to find a job near home to rebuild his life as well as conveniently take care of his sick elderly mother. Accordingly, Dien Ban Town Youth Union has connected him to vocational secondary school and work at Phi Hoang Mechanical Workshop in Dien Quang commune with a guaranteed income to cover his living expenses.

Young man Tran Cong Trung shared: "I am extremely grateful for the timely attention and support of the youth union at all levels, helping me overcome the guilt of past mistakes to confidently integrate into the community and rebuild my life."

In 2024, the model consulted and worked with the Transaction Office of the Social Policy Bank of Dien Ban town to create conditions for households with young people who had completed their prison sentences to borrow 80 million VND for economic development. In the commune and ward, there were 9 forms and models implemented by the Youth Union - Association such as supporting job search, vocational training, livelihood support, legal advice, support for criminal record deletion... for 29 young people.

Mr. Nguyen Huu Long - Secretary of Dien Thang Trung Ward Youth Union, shared: "Journey of Faith" has shown the concern and companionship of the Youth Union - Association in caring for and supporting young people in difficult circumstances, helping families have more determination to rise up in life. From this program, Dien Thang Trung Ward Youth Union has accompanied and supported many disadvantaged young people in difficult circumstances to rise up in life".

“Journey of Faith” implemented by Dien Ban City Youth Union has brought many meanings when closely coordinating with grassroots youth unions in the work of integrating reformed youth, especially slow-developing youth who have access to integrated knowledge through talks and discussions from real-life situations.

This helps slow-developing youth and youth reintegrating into the community have a more realistic view, contributing to reducing the rate of recidivism and law violations, orienting them towards a beautiful and useful lifestyle, with aspirations to rise up...
