On October 6, 2022, the underground tunnel of Ring Road 2.5 running through the Giai Phong - Kim Dong intersection was started by the Hanoi People's Committee.
The project has a total investment of more than 770 billion VND; the tunnel is 460 meters long, with a scale of 4 lanes for motor vehicles with the goal of reducing congestion at the existing intersection and completing Ring Road 2.5. The project construction period is from 2022 to 2025.
To carry out the project, recently the investor, the Hanoi Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board, and contractors have coordinated with competent authorities to fence off 2/3 of Giai Phong Street and Kim Dong Street and prohibit many types of vehicles from passing through to carry out the project.
