Hanoi: Students at many schools stay home for National Day parade on September 2

Students in many schools in Hanoi will be off school during the days of practice and rehearsal for the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2.

On the afternoon of August 20, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training notified the Chairmen of the People's Committees of wards and communes; heads of units and educational institutions under the Department about coordination to ensure security, safety, and smooth traffic in the city during the joint training, preliminary rehearsal, and general rehearsal of the ceremony, parade, and march to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

According to the schedule of joint practice, preliminary review, and final rehearsal in Plan No. 173/KH-UBND dated July 2 of the Hanoi People's Committee, at Ba Dinh Square and central streets along the parade route, the first joint practice will take place at 8:00 p.m. on August 21; the second joint practice will take place at 8:00 p.m. on August 24; the preliminary rehearsal of the Anniversary Ceremony will take place at 8:00 p.m. on August 27; and the final rehearsal of the Anniversary Ceremony will take place at 6:30 a.m. on August 30.

Accordingly, schools and educational institutions in wards (formerly in the districts of Ba Dinh, Hoan Kiem, Dong Da, Hai Ba Trung, Cau Giay, Tay Ho, Nam Tu Liem, Bac Tu Liem, Hoang Mai, Thanh Xuan, Long Bien, Ha Dong) will allow students to take time off on the days of practice, preliminary rehearsal, general rehearsal of the Anniversary Ceremony, military parade, and march, and notify parents of students to coordinate management.

During these days, teachers still go to school to prepare for the new school year. Schools and educational institutions in other wards and communes, based on actual conditions, will consider and decide whether to let students take time off during the practice, preliminary rehearsal, and general rehearsal of the Anniversary Ceremony, military parade, and march.

Schools in areas where parades and processions pass through are open for people and tourists to stop, rest, and use personal hygiene, ensuring respect and hospitality.
