Package No. 1, Lao Cai - Vinh Yen 500kV transmission line project includes 51 pole positions, from VT1 to VT52, passing through Bao Yen and Bao Thang districts of Lao Cai province, implemented by a consortium of Song Da Construction and Service Joint Stock Company; PC1 Group Joint Stock Company; Dong Anh Steel Pole Manufacturing Limited Company.
The locations span steep hills and narrow roads, many of which are inaccessible by motor vehicles. In addition, this year’s weather has been erratic, with the rainy season coming early, affecting the transportation of materials and equipment.
To ensure the construction progress as required, the joint venture contractor has proactively developed a multi-layer construction plan, organizing different independent construction teams. Workers are arranged to eat and rest near the construction site, minimizing travel time.
Not only taking the lead in foundation pit construction, package 1 is also the place to erect the first poles on the construction site of the entire 500kV Lao Cai-Vinh Yen line at locations VT42 and VT28.

The leader of Power Project Management Board 1 said that package 1 is in the group of 10 mixed packages of the Lao Cai-Vinh Yen 500kV transmission line project. This package was officially implemented from March 10, 2025, all excavation and foundation work of this package was completed after less than 3 months of construction.
With the current progress, the joint venture contractor for package 1 will have time to proactively carry out the next steps of erecting poles and pulling wires to ensure progress according to the set plan.
