On the morning of January 19, at the Vietnam Ethnic Culture and Tourism Village (Dong Mo, Son Tay, Hanoi ), the program "Green Banh Chung - Tet for the poor" in 2025 took place. According to the organizers, this is an opportunity for generations of Vietnamese people to show solidarity, mutual love, and join hands to continue and promote the tradition of helping each other, sharing the spirit of welcoming the traditional Tet holiday with warmth and affection, towards a peaceful and happy new year.
The highlight of the program is the Chung cake wrapping activity with the participation of many ethnic groups such as Tay, Nung (Thai Nguyen), Lao, Kho Mu, Thai (Son La), Muong ( Hoa Binh ), Ba Na (Gia Lai), Khmer (Soc Trang) and many other ethnic groups.
Banh chung, banh chung gu, banh tet... are wrapped to bring the wishes of a peaceful and happy new year to the people here.
This is an annual activity held to promote the tradition of mutual love of the nation, and at the same time introduce the beauty of traditional Tet culture of ethnic minorities living in the Cultural Village to domestic and foreign tourists.
The atmosphere of wrapping banh chung is joyful and warm with military-civilian affection.
Ethnic minorities living at the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism happily show off their achievements after a period of hard work wrapping banh chung.
After wrapping the banh chung into shape, the ethnic minorities here begin the process of boiling the banh chung and watching the cake cook over a glowing fire. The green banh chung are a symbol of solidarity and connection among the Vietnamese ethnic communities.
Along with that, many individuals and businesses have also contributed, contributing to bringing nearly 700 meaningful Tet gifts to poor households in many localities. The program "Green Chung Cake - Tet for the Poor" not only contributes to preserving and maintaining the beauty of traditional culture but is also an opportunity to spread the good human values of the Vietnamese people during the traditional Tet holiday.
