Help people

Officers and soldiers of Tam Chung Border Post help people harvest cassava.

However, now the Spring village has a new look. Over the years, Mr. Dia has been constantly working with the functional forces and local authorities to propagate and mobilize people not to destroy forests for farming, shifting cultivation, and nomadic life, but to stabilize their lives and develop the economy . Thanks to that, 113 Mong ethnic households have had a stable life, not thinking about migrating to other places.

Mr. Thao Van Dia said: "More than 10 years ago, the people's lives were very difficult, many households left the village to find new land, at one point the whole village had only about ten households left. Since the policies and attention of the Party and the State, the people have gradually stabilized their lives and determined to stay in the village. To achieve that, the functional forces, border guards, and police officers have sent many officers to work with the people to build the village. The officers have propagated and implemented many policies of the Party, policies, and laws of the State to the people; directly worked with the people in the village to renovate wasteland to grow rice; built houses, drew water, and built small hydroelectric plants; consolidated the political system, village and hamlet management boards. Up to now, the people in the village have successfully grown rice 2 crops/year, know how to raise livestock and cultivate crops in the direction of commodity production, and 100% of children go to school".

Chieng Cam village, Hien Kiet commune, from a poor and backward village, thanks to the consensus of the government, people and the support of Hien Kiet Border Guard Station, which assigned party members to be in charge of households in the border area, has now changed. Border guard party members have guided households in socio-economic development, contributing to sustainable poverty reduction associated with new rural construction. Up to now, the poverty rate of Chieng Cam village is more than 12%, with an average income per capita of over 45.3 million VND/person/year. This is also the area chosen by Hien Kiet Border Guard Station to build a model of a bright village in the border area. At the end of 2024, Chieng Cam village was recognized as meeting new rural standards.

Along with helping people develop the economy, Hien Kiet Border Guard Station has continuously strengthened the work of building a strong local political base system. The unit has organized the signing of a coordination leadership charter with the Commune Party Committee, focusing on Party building, building the political system, socio-economic development, mass mobilization work, building a national border defense associated with building a national defense and people's security in border areas, contributing to building a strong and comprehensive local political system. From respecting the people, taking the people as the root, the unit has effectively implemented the movement "All people participate in protecting territorial sovereignty and national border security in the new situation", building self-management teams for border lines and national border markers.

The family of Giang A Chia in On village, Tam Chung commune is in particularly difficult circumstances, living in a makeshift house for many years. He is also a person participating in protecting the border line, landmark number 270 in Tam Chung commune. Through understanding the living conditions of the villagers, Tam Chung Border Guard Station mobilized funds to build a "Border Warm Home" for Mr. Chia's family. The project is like a meaningful gift, connecting the close military-civilian relationship between the border guards and the people in the border area.

“Border Warm Homes” is a housing construction program for policy families and poor households with housing difficulties in communes and villages in mountainous and island border areas, maintained by the Thanh Hoa Border Guard for many years. With the spirit of “mutual love and support”, with contributions from Border Guard officers and soldiers and fundraising, dozens of “Border Warm Homes” have been built for policy families and poor households on the border.

Lieutenant Colonel Ngo Minh Quang, Head of Tam Chung Border Guard Station, said: “Another “Border Shelter” has been awarded, meaning more motivation for people to firmly stay at the border despite the many difficulties in life. Over the past time, the station has always accompanied the border people to implement many meaningful programs and models to help people eliminate hunger, reduce poverty, gradually improve all aspects of life, join hands with the border guards to build the homeland and protect the border."

Currently, the Party Committee and the Border Guard Command continue to direct the Party Committees and commanders of grassroots units to closely coordinate with the Party Committees and local authorities to focus on grasping the situation of policy families, families in difficult circumstances, families following religions... to develop plans to monitor and help each household. At the same time, thoroughly implement the coordination work between levels, sectors in the province, border guards with Party Committees, local authorities, and forces stationed in the area in assigning Party members to take charge of households associated with carrying out political tasks, firmly protecting the national border, contributing to building a solid people's position.
