The source of revolution from Cho mountain cave

(Baothanhhoa.vn) - In the heart of Cho Mountain, Nga An Commune, the first steps of the Indochinese Communist Party Cell were secretly formed, closely linked to the struggle movement of the army and people here. From that generation of loyal party members, the revolutionary source continued to spread, so that today, the cadres and people of Nga An continue to build their homeland to become more and more prosperous.

Following the winding path, we found Cho Mountain - the place that marked the birth of the first Indochinese Communist Party cell in the North of Nga Son district in the past. There is also a stone stele here that clearly records the date of birth and the first revolutionary soldiers of the cell. At this place, the history of the resilient struggle of Nga An land, the "river mouth, mountain head" countryside, was opened.

The book History of Nga An Commune Party Committee (1947-2009) recorded: "At exactly 12 o'clock on April 4, 1947, at Hang Cho Mountain, three comrades Pham Van Phan, Nguyen Ngoc Ho, and Nguyen Ba Nhiem were admitted to the Indochinese Communist Party. To keep the newly established Party organization secret, they gave it the code name Tay Ho Party Cell, and comrade Pham Van Thao was appointed Secretary. Comrade Mai Ngan represented the District Party Committee to attend. Thus, in the North of Nga Son District, the first Party cell was born, and was assigned by the District Party Committee to develop the Party and direct all aspects of the communes"... By the end of 1947, Tay Ho Party Cell had developed 15 party members".

In order to overthrow the young revolutionary government, the reactionaries created many riots, inciting people to participate. “In the above situation, on the night of October 17 and 18, 1947, the army was mobilized to Nga Son and organized battles with the local militia and guerrillas... The Nga An guerrilla team coordinated with the provincial and district police to ambush the remaining reactionaries and search for weapons... Thus, the Tay Ho Party Cell, together with the people, the army, and the police, fought against the riots with results, bringing the struggle of the Nga An people to a new stage, a new step of development” (History of the Nga An Commune Party Committee).

Those days of hard, bloody and tearful struggle have forged the indomitable spirit of the army and people of Nga An. The revolutionary fire from Cho mountain cave not only extinguished all reactionary riot plots, but also opened a new path for the growth of the local revolutionary movement. From the core of Tay Ho Party Cell in 1947, that tradition of solidarity and loyalty has become the source, flowing forever in each generation of people here. Promoting the revolutionary strength, in the cause of innovation and homeland construction today, Nga An commune was established on the basis of merging 3 communes: Nga Dien, Nga Phu and Nga An.

Mr. Mai Xuan Thuy, Party Secretary of Bac Son village - where Cho mountain cave is located, shared: “In recent years, the people in the village have promoted the revolutionary tradition, promoted socio -economic development. In the new rural construction, the people in the village unanimously responded to the movements, such as donating land for traffic roads, contributing to the construction of infrastructure, cultural institutions... becoming the first model new rural village of the old Nga An commune, with an average income per capita of 78 million VND/person/year, and spiritual life being increasingly improved”.

Nga An commune today is developing strongly, the economic structure is shifting in the right direction, the infrastructure is invested and built according to the new rural planning, gradually meeting the development requirements and improving people's lives. In agriculture , the commune focuses on restructuring associated with land accumulation and concentration, building large-scale fields, forming high-yield and high-quality rice areas. The average production value reaches 113.6 million VND/ha/year, especially high-tech farming models with a value of up to 190 million VND/ha/year. The agricultural region has proactively linked production and product consumption with businesses, boldly introducing many new crops into production, bringing about clear results.

The industrial, handicraft, trade and service sectors of the commune have also developed strongly, with a total production value estimated at 514.7 billion VND. The locality focuses on exploiting advantages from the production of construction materials and handicrafts. Typically, Viet Anh Export Sedge Production and Processing Joint Stock Company has brought traditional sedge products to conquer the world market.

Chairman of Nga An Commune People's Committee Mai Van Quang emphasized: "The revolutionary source from Cho Mountain Cave is always a spiritual support, adding will for cadres, party members and people in the commune to unite and overcome difficulties. We determine that economic development associated with improving living standards, building a civilized and beautiful homeland is a worthy continuation of the tradition of our ancestors. Nga An will continue to mobilize the strength of national solidarity, promote potential, advantages, and aspirations to rise up, so that this land rich in revolutionary traditions will shine brighter and brighter".
