On the morning of June 11, in Doan Ket commune (Thanh Mien), the Center for Application of Science - Technology and Innovation (Hai Duong Department of Science and Technology) organized an evaluation of the results of raising CT1234 duck breed.
Thanh Mien district has 2 models of farms raising CT1234 duck breed, including 1 household in Doan Ket commune and 1 household in Ngo Quyen commune. This duck breed was purchased from Thuy Phuong Poultry Research Center.
Households in Ngo Quyen commune apply grazing combined with mesh floors. Households in Doan Ket commune apply full-time mesh farming.
In Doan Ket commune, the survival rate of CT1234 ducks after 7 weeks of age reached 96.5%; in Ngo Quyen commune it was 95.6%. Breeding results showed that CT1234 ducks grew rapidly through the weeks of age, especially from 2 to 4 weeks of age. 1 week old reached 260g, 4 weeks old reached 1,800-1,900g. From 46 to 49 days, ducks were sold, the average selling price was 41,000 VND/kg, earning a profit of over 15 million VND/1,000 ducks.
According to Mr. Nguyen Dinh Tung, owner of a duck farm in Doan Ket commune, his family earns 500 million VND/year from raising CT1234 ducks. CT1234 ducks bring in a higher income than CV Super M3 control ducks, which is 71,000 - 373,000 VND/100 ducks.
Representatives of the Department of Science and Technology of Hai Duong assessed that the CT1234 duck breed has high resistance, so it has few diseases, fragrant and delicious meat, grows quickly, has a high survival rate and gives good economic efficiency.
