7 points will be quite a lot
According to Ms. Pham Ha Thanh, a teacher at Le Quy Don High School - Ha Dong, Hanoi , this year's literature exam has a rather broad topic, but is relatively easy to write, especially for the social argument section.
In general, with this test, there will be quite a lot of papers that score 7. In fact, the score will be higher. This depends on the openness of the answers. When evaluating questions that require candidates to write their feelings and thoughts about their love for their homeland, the examiner needs to be flexible. If the answers are too detailed, the examiner has to compare the paper with the answer, then the candidate's paper will hardly get a high score.

For example, with question 2 of the writing part, candidates can develop in many different directions. Some will describe expressions of love for their homeland and country, while others will emphasize the spirit of dedication, the awareness of building or protecting the country...
During the implementation process, some students will focus on a certain idea and not be able to write all the ideas. So what will the scoring requirements be? Only give high scores to students whose writing is highly general, and those who write quite well but only focus on one aspect will still not get high scores, or will all students get high scores? Therefore, the situation of the literature exam scores depends on the answer of the Ministry of Education and Training.
On the other hand, the exam limits the length to 600 words, and with a broad topic like this, candidates will generally write longer. Will the examiners be allowed to "lend concessions" to long but good essays, or will they have to stick to the 600-word requirement?
The differentiation of this essay will mainly be shown in question 2 of the writing part (social discussion). Whether a candidate has a superior score compared to his/her peers or not depends on whether the discussion is profound or not, whether the argument is solid or not... in this question. But this question depends quite a lot on the quality of the marking. As for the reading comprehension part, question 1 of the writing part, most candidates will do equally well.
Or from the choice of material
Teacher Nguyen Xuan Hao, also at Le Quy Don High School - Ha Dong, said he was very pleased with this year's literature test: "This is really a good test, touching on many aspects of teaching and learning literature: love for the homeland, friendship, and camaraderie."
According to Mr. Hao, the topic is good because of the choice of materials. It is an excerpt from the short story Different Sky Regions by writer Nguyen Minh Chau, talking about the friendship between two soldiers, one from the city (Hanoi), one from the countryside ( Nghe An ). Therefore, it will easily receive the sympathy of students from both the city and the countryside, the meeting point of the students as well as the two characters in the short story, is the love of the country.
The questions were all good. For example, with the literary essay question, the test took the candidates from the friendship of two specific soldiers to broader feelings, which were comradeship and love for the homeland. This was a meaningful emotional experience for the candidates at this time, when the country had just celebrated the 50th anniversary of national reunification and was heading towards the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution.
Or question 5, the reading comprehension section is also a good question. It seems like it is just a grammar question, but it turns out that it evokes beautiful emotions in the candidates, still on the topic of love for the homeland. This question, along with the social argumentation question, are questions that have the nature of differentiating candidates.
"This year's essay test is commendable. It is a test that makes candidates very interested in doing the test," said Mr. Hao.
