On the night of August 25, after the storm had passed, the Nghe An Provincial Military Command mobilized more than 1,500 officers and soldiers, along with militia and self-defense forces in communes and wards to spread out to villages, schools, and headquarters, helping people clear up fallen trees and clear traffic at night.

On August 26, the Provincial Military Command continued to send hundreds of officers and soldiers to help people in the heavily damaged areas continue to overcome the consequences of storm No. 5. In the afternoon of the same day, the Provincial Military Command dispatched 150 officers and soldiers to help Nghe An Power Company clear trees and fix power lines. On Nguyen Duc Canh Street, there were many large trees that fell on the power lines and blocked the road, people passing by had to walk on the sidewalk. More than 50 officers and soldiers of Regiment 764, Provincial Military Command cleared for nearly an hour to clear the road and create conditions for the power company to handle the lines. Mr. Vu Anh Tai, Deputy Head of Service Team No. 2, Nghe An Power Company, who worked with the soldiers, commented: "Thanks to the help of officers and soldiers of the Provincial Military Command, the amount of trees that fell on the power lines was cleared very quickly. You guys worked very effectively, with this progress, we will be able to turn on the power by 10 o'clock tonight."
Directly commanding the forces at the scene, Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Trong Duc, Deputy Chief of Staff of Nghe An Provincial Military Command, said: “After grasping the damage caused by storm No. 5, especially the large number of fallen trees on the roads, causing traffic jams and affecting the power supply in the area. Nghe An Electricity has proposed to the Provincial Military Command to support forces to trim and clear broken and fallen trees affecting power lines. In the immediate future, the Provincial Military Command has mobilized 1,500 officers and soldiers divided into 4 teams, focusing on repairing the main roads this afternoon. In addition to this force, the Provincial Military Command has also directed units under the Provincial Military Command and regional defense commands to organize on-site forces to support localities in overcoming and clearing trees as well as other incidents caused by the storm.”

Colonel Dinh Bat Van, Commander of the Nghe An Provincial Military Command, shared a story imbued with the love between the military and the people about the concern and care for the people: At the T20 Passenger Station project of the Provincial Military Command under construction in Thanh Vinh Ward, to ensure the safety of the surrounding households, the Provincial Military Command invited the Department of Construction to guide and carefully reinforce the project. However, with the viewpoint of "people's safety is paramount", the Provincial Military Command sent officers to coordinate with the ward leaders to directly visit each household to mobilize people to temporarily move to a safe place.

During that time, the Provincial Military Command carefully arranged food and accommodation for all the people, helping them to confidently overcome the storm. By the morning of August 26, when the storm had passed, the households returned home in joy and peace, leaving behind deep feelings of concern and responsibility of the soldiers towards the people.
