On one side is the South Central Coast with clear blue bays, fine white sand beaches, rich seafood and unique coastal culture. On the other side is the majestic red basalt plateau, gong festivals, primeval forests, rapids and rare flora and fauna... This contrast is not only a complementary advantage, but also a source of inspiration for the formation of unique and diverse "sea - forest" tourism products.
MS. NGUYEN THUY PHUONG HIEU, DEPUTY DIRECTOR OF DAK LAK DEPARTMENT OF CULTURE, SPORTS AND TOURISM: Promoting the role of connecting and orienting the market
The tourism connection between Phu Yen and Dak Lak provinces - one with sea, the other with forest - is opening up opportunities for strong development in the context of regional linkage and the policy of merging provinces. With more than 189km of coastline of Phu Yen and the ecosystem of primeval forests, waterfalls, and unique cultural villages of Dak Lak, this is an opportunity to build unique and attractive sea - forest tourism products that cannot be found anywhere else.
Tourism associations play a very important role in connecting businesses, orienting the market and proposing effective linkage models. Promoting the role of associations in the current period needs to focus on the following aspects: Promoting the development of inter-regional linkage tourism products: from sea to forest, from downstream to upstream. Each product needs to be designed according to the value chain of experience, connecting transportation, accommodation, cuisine and culture in a smooth and scientific manner. Improving the quality of tourism services: through human resource training, vocational skills training, digital transformation and standardization of service criteria. Associations need to act as a bridge between managers, businesses and the community, thereby creating truly professional, friendly and regionally characteristic products. Promoting the common image of sea - forest under a unified tourism brand. This is the time to create a large communication campaign, exploiting highlights and characteristics. This not only attracts domestic tourists but also expands the international market through Indochina tours and sea-highland corridor tourism routes.
We believe that Phu Yen and Dak Lak will unite into one, with the participation of the entire political system, government apparatus and tourism association, the tourism business community will make a strong breakthrough, becoming a bright spot in the South Central Coast, Central Highlands and the whole country.
MR. HO VAN TIEN, CHAIRMAN OF PHU YEN TOURISM ASSOCIATION: Connecting sea and forest, raising the level of tourism
With just over 4 hours of travel by car from the coastal city of Tuy Hoa to Buon Ma Thuot - the coffee capital of the Central Highlands, on the same journey, visitors can experience two completely different shades of nature: welcoming the dawn at Mui Dien - where the sun first rises on the mainland of Vietnam, then in the late afternoon, immersing themselves in the great forest, listening to the sound of Dray Nur waterfall and the echoes of gongs echoing from the Ede villages. It is a journey of interweaving the breath of the ocean and the echoes of the great forest, between the salty taste of seafood and the taste of grilled meat and bamboo rice with a jar of rice wine.
This connection not only helps to extend the length of stay of tourists, increase tourism spending, but also opens up the potential for inter-regional cooperation in developing infrastructure, human resources and high-quality tourism products. The tours connecting Phu Yen - Dak Lak will be a bridge to bring international visitors from Tuy Hoa airport to the Central Highlands; at the same time, open the way for tourists from the Central Highlands to find the sea to relax, explore and heal.
In the new tourism flow, “blue sea - great forest” are no longer two separate worlds, but are blending together to create an emotional and attractive tourism picture, promising to become a new development axis of tourism in the South Central Coast and Central Highlands.
MR. PHAM THO TRUONG, CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS AND GENERAL DIRECTOR OF BB GROUP JOINT STOCK COMPANY: Ready for new tourism products, increasing opportunities for cooperation and development
To develop tourism sustainably and effectively in the context of regional restructuring, it is essential to strengthen the connection between Phu Yen and Dak Lak tourism businesses. This is not only a connection in terms of products, but also a sharing of market information, coordination in promoting and introducing typical products of each locality to domestic and international tourists.
Tourism businesses on both sides need to soon develop unique inter-regional tours and programs - combining the blue sea and golden sunshine of Phu Yen with the vast forests and rich indigenous culture of the Central Highlands. Tourism products such as "From dawn at Mui Dien to sunset at Buon Don" or "One day, two seasons - one journey, two shades" will be impressive highlights, creating a difference and strong attraction.
BB Group is actively investing in a system of high-end limousine tourist vehicles connecting Tuy Hoa - Buon Ma Thuot, Tuy Hoa - Nha Trang and Tuy Hoa - Quy Nhon. This is part of the strategy to improve service quality and travel experience for tourists. The most desired thing for people and businesses now is that National Highway 29 will be upgraded and renovated synchronously soon; at the same time, it is expected that the Tuy Hoa - Buon Ma Thuot expressway will soon start construction. Because this will be the key driving force, creating a breakthrough for the development of inter-regional tourism - sea - forest, contributing to bringing Dak Lak in particular and the South Central Coast - Central Highlands region in general to new heights on the tourism map of Vietnam.
MR. DANG XUAN THANH, OWNER OF THANH TUYEN SOUVENIR AND FOOD PRODUCTION FACILITY: Connecting trade, promoting the strengths of regional specialties and tourism
The trade connection between Phu Yen and Dak Lak does not stop at tourism but is also a great opportunity to strongly develop regional specialties. Although it is a coastal province, Phu Yen is the cradle of the famous sun-dried beef dish - a product that has become a popular brand throughout the country. In addition, Phu Yen has a rich source of high-quality seafood at reasonable prices, very suitable for distribution to the Central Highlands provinces and vice versa, distributing specialties of coffee, cocoa, pepper, honey, and medicinal herbs from Dak Lak to coastal consumers.
Hopefully in the coming time, trade fairs, agricultural markets, and OCOP product introduction points will be organized more regularly and connected more effectively, thereby helping businesses of the two provinces boost consumption and promote products associated with tourism development.
Regarding tourism activities, Dak Lak possesses great potential to develop types of tourism such as eco-tourism, experience, nature exploration, trekking through forests, living with indigenous communities. Destinations such as Serepok River, Dray Nur Waterfall, Yok Don National Forest... have majestic beauty and are as attractive as famous tourist destinations across the country. When combined with Phu Yen sea tours, it will create an impressive, attractive and unique sea - forest journey.
