Khanh Hoa: Smooth operation of two-level local government

On the afternoon of June 30, continuing the working program in Khanh Hoa province, the Central Working Group led by Comrade Nguyen Khac Dinh, member of the Party Central Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the National Assembly, worked with Nam Nha Trang ward and Bac Cam Ranh ward on the operation of two-level local government.

Also attending were comrade Nghiem Xuan Thanh, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee; comrade Tran Quoc Nam, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Khanh Hoa province.

Accordingly, comrade Nguyen Khac Dinh inspected the operation of the Public Administration Service Center in Nam Nha Trang ward and Bac Cam Ranh ward; asked people who came to do administrative procedures and staff who received and processed documents.

According to the report, the work of organizing and operating the two-level local government system in the above wards has been carried out on schedule. Up to now, all preparations have been completed, and the ward officials, civil servants and public employees are ready to enter the first day of operation to ensure smooth and effective operations.

During the inspection, comrade Nguyen Khac Dinh acknowledged and commended the serious working spirit of the cadres, civil servants and public employees in the new wards; highly appreciated the local government in arranging modern equipment, arranging and guiding new procedures for the people, ready to start operating on July 1.

The Standing Vice Chairman of the National Assembly said that in the initial period of operating the two-level local government, some difficulties and obstacles will arise. Therefore, local leaders need to step up propaganda and guide people to carry out administrative procedures online, thereby reducing the workload for the one-stop department, saving time and costs for people.

To complete the task, comrade Nguyen Khac Dinh suggested that the leaders of the new communes and wards must unite, promote collective intelligence, continue to innovate thinking, leadership methods, direction and organization to promote local strengths and potentials. Especially when arranging commune-level administrative units, the operation of the Public Administration Service Center plays an extremely important role, so localities must focus on digital transformation, synchronization and full equipment of information technology.

Regarding Nam Nha Trang ward, he requested leaders and civil servants to strive to overcome current difficulties, quickly approach new working methods and new technologies to operate smoothly, serve people and businesses, unite to complete the assigned tasks, and bring the ward to develop strongly and reach a new level. Regarding Bac Cam Ranh ward, the ward leaders need to identify this as an important area in security and defense, so the locality must coordinate smoothly with units stationed in the area to ensure security and defense.

Together with the whole country, on the morning of June 30, the Provincial Party Committee - People's Council - People's Committee - Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Khanh Hoa province held a ceremony to announce the Resolution and Decision of the Central and local governments on merging provincial and commune-level administrative units, ending the operation of district-level administrative units, establishing party organizations, appointing Party committees, People's Councils, People's Committees, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees of provinces, communes, wards, and special zones.

Khanh Hoa province (new) was formed on the basis of merging the entire natural area and population of Khanh Hoa province and Ninh Thuan province. After the arrangement, Khanh Hoa province has an area of ​​8,555.86 km², a population of more than 2.24 million people; has 65 commune-level units including 48 communes, 16 wards and Truong Sa special zone.

In which, Nam Nha Trang ward (formed on the basis of merging Phuoc Hai, Phuoc Long, Vinh Truong wards and Phuoc Dong and Vinh Thai communes of Nha Trang city) has an area of ​​over ^82km2 and a population of over 130,000 people.

Bac Cam Ranh Ward (formed on the basis of merging Cam Nghia, Cam Phuc Bac wards and Cam Thanh Nam commune of Cam Ranh city) has an area of ​​over ^133km2 and a population of over 43,500 people.
