Monitoring the progress of Nam Co stream protection embankment

This is a project invested by the Project Management Board of Agricultural Works and Rural Development of Dien Bien province. The project has a total length of 3,773m. Of which, the length of the left embankment is 2,056m; the right embankment is longer than 1,716m. The total investment is 39.8 billion VND (capital from the National Target Program on New Rural Construction for the period 2021 - 2025 and local budget balance), the implementation period is from 2022 - 2024. The purpose and scale of investment is to build a protective embankment for 80 households, with 30ha of 2-crop rice land; with overflow, internal roads in the area and improve the efficiency of water resource use, drainage and flood prevention, and natural disaster mitigation.

The Project Management Board of Agricultural and Rural Development Projects recommended to the monitoring team some difficulties and problems in the project implementation process, such as: Site clearance encountered difficulties in some locations in Na Nom village, Thanh Nua commune, affecting the progress of the construction package; the project has just been allocated capital of more than 29 billion VND. In order to complete the required volume before December 31, 2024, it is requested that the competent authority promptly supplement the capital source.
