Gold price today increased to new peak
As of 6:00 a.m. this morning (Vietnam time), the price of gold today on the international market reached 3,530 USD/ounce, up 60 USD compared to the lowest level in last night's trading session (3,470 USD/ounce). This is the highest price in more than 14 years, surpassing all previous records. The price of gold futures for December delivery also increased sharply by 61 USD, reaching 3,577 USD/ounce.
The rise in gold prices was driven by increased safe-haven demand as investors sought stable assets amid volatile financial markets. Concerns about the independence of the Fed and the prospect of interest rate cuts pushed the prices of both metals higher. In addition, the weakness of the US dollar was also an important supporting factor.
The US stock market saw a sharp decline last night following a US court ruling that declared tariffs imposed during President Donald Trump's first term illegal.
This news has raised concerns about the legitimacy of US trade policies, increased market uncertainty and slowed investment decisions due to unclear tariff costs. As a result, many stock investors have shifted their money to gold to preserve capital. It is natural that gold prices have risen to a new high today.
In Vietnam, at the end of September 2, SJC gold was sold at 130.6 million VND/tael, while ring gold was sold at 125 million VND/tael.
