(QNgTV)- Durian prices in many southern and Central Highlands provinces increased by 3,000 - 5,000 VND/kg thanks to positive signals from the Chinese market and the advantage of entering the main harvest season.
According to information from gardeners, agents, and purchasing businesses in the Southern and Central Highlands provinces, durian prices have increased slightly in many areas in the past few days. Prices have increased by about 3,000 - 5,000 VND/kg compared to the low price in mid-July. Although the current price has not returned to the same period last year and in 2023, many businesses believe that durian prices may improve in the near future, thanks to positive signals from the Chinese market.
In particular, recently, China has had better assessments of durian growing areas in Vietnam after a field inspection. In addition, there is an additional advantage that from the end of August onwards, the durian region in the Central Highlands enters the main season but is almost not subject to much competition from Southeast Asian countries, because most countries have entered the end of the season, or have finished the season.
The Central Highlands growing region accounts for about 40% of the country's durian output.
