Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee has requested relevant units to strengthen management of production, preliminary processing, processing and consumption of durian products. Specifically, the province recommends that people do not cut down other crops to plant new durian trees.
Lam Dong province has a plan to develop key fruit trees associated with brand building, aiming at export markets in the period of 2024-2030. The goal is to develop key fruit trees suitable to the terrain, soil and climate conditions of each ecological sub-region, ensuring sustainability and forming concentrated raw material areas.
By 2030, Lam Dong province aims to have a total fruit growing area of 51,000 hectares with an output of 633,500 tons. Of which, the high-tech production area will reach 12,000 hectares, with an average fruit production value per unit area of over 300 million VND/ha/year.
Notably, Lam Dong province aims to have 25,800 hectares of durian trees by 2030 with an output of 270,535 tons. The main production areas are in Di Linh, Da Huoai, Bao Lam, Dam Rong, Da Teh, Lam Ha, Cat Tien districts and scattered in other districts.
