Specifically, the two provinces of Ca Mau and Dong Nai are purchasing live pigs at the highest price of 68,000 VND/kg. Localities such as Can Tho, Tay Ninh, Dong Thap, An Giang and Ho Chi Minh City recorded a price of 67,000 VND/kg, while Vinh Long maintained the purchase price at 66,000 VND/kg.

Long An increases poultry flock by 11.48%, preparing for new crop season
According to a report from the Long An Provincial Statistics Office (before the merger), by the end of June 2025, the total number of livestock and poultry in the area had some notable fluctuations. The buffalo herd decreased to 4,750 heads, a decrease of 8.03% over the same period last year; the cow herd reached 105,600 heads, a decrease of 3.84%, of which dairy cows decreased by 4.88%. The number of pigs reached 88,000 heads, a slight increase of 1.3%, however, the estimated output of live pigs for slaughter was only 11,200 tons, a slight decrease of 0.09%.
Buffalo meat output recorded a sharp decrease of nearly 50%, to 109 tons; while beef increased to 2,450 tons, equivalent to an increase of 4.71%, and goat meat reached 55 tons, an increase of 8.73%. Poultry flocks grew significantly by 11.48%, reaching 11.47 million heads, of which chicken flocks accounted for the majority with more than 9.35 million heads, an increase of 16.03%. However, poultry meat output decreased slightly by 0.49%, to 27,488 tons, of which chicken meat increased slightly by 0.28%, reaching 22,565 tons.
Regarding other livestock products, poultry eggs increased sharply by 53.48%, reaching 532.46 million eggs; fresh cow's milk output also increased by 6.84%, reaching 19,500 tons.
The livestock epidemic situation is strictly controlled. African swine fever has appeared sporadically in 22 households in 15 communes, with a total of 717 pigs culled. Avian influenza occurred in a household in Chau Thanh district, culling 2,200 pigs. In addition, a case of rabies was recorded in Moc Hoa district. Small outbreaks have been promptly handled, preventing them from spreading to the community.
