New York Arabica Coffee Price July 17, 2025

Similarly, the price of Arabica coffee on the New York floor on the afternoon of July 15, 2025 continued to decrease slightly, fluctuating between 278.15 - 297.35 cents/lb.

On July 15, US President Donald Trump announced a trade deal with Indonesia, reducing tariffs on goods from 32% to 19%. However, he also announced a 50% tariff on Brazilian goods from August 1, raising concerns about coffee supplies from Brazil – the world’s largest producer of arabica coffee. Brazil has threatened to retaliate and is negotiating with US companies to reverse the measure.

Coffee prices fell as the dollar rose 0.5%, while Brazil’s coffee harvest was progressing well. Cooxupe Cooperative reported 49.3% of its 2025-26 crop was complete, down from 59.6% a year earlier. Safras & Mercado said the harvest was 69% complete, with robusta 88% complete and arabica 58%. Robusta inventories monitored by ICE rose to a 10-month high of 5,492 lots, but arabica inventories fell to 831,612 bags.

A drought in Brazil’s Minas Gerais state has provided some support for coffee prices, but uncertainty over U.S. tariffs has kept the market volatile. U.S. roasters are looking for domestic supplies, while a surplus from Brazil could add to ICE inventories, putting downward pressure on global prices. The U.S. is the world’s largest coffee consumer, with 33% of its imports coming from Brazil.
