Doctors at Lao Cai Province General Hospital No. 3 have just coordinated with doctors from Hanoi Medical University to successfully operate on a 9kg tumor in the abdomen of a 14-year-old girl.

On July 17, Lao Cai Province General Hospital No. 3 announced that it had successfully operated on a 9kg tumor in the abdomen of a 14-year-old girl, DT.C., in Nam Co commune.

Previously, patient C. was brought to the hospital by his family with a distended abdomen for 7 days, no vomiting, no fever, and normal bowel movements.

After having the patient undergo a CT scan and an emergency consultation with imaging specialists from Hanoi Medical University, the patient was diagnosed with an extremely large lymphoma. The tumor was so large that it compressed the entire abdomen, pressing on the organs, threatening his life.

The endoscopic surgery was performed urgently and precisely by the surgical team, lasting 1 hour. The entire 9 kg tumor was safely removed. The patient recovered well after surgery.
