Nearly 50 units of blood voluntarily donated by police officers

On August 16, Head of the Ha Giang Live Blood Bank Club Duong Hong Chuyen said that since the beginning of July, more than 70 volunteers have donated blood to emergency patients and patients being treated for anemia at Ha Giang General Hospital. Of these, nearly 50 units of blood were collected from Tuyen Quang police officers.

Police officers of Detention Camp No. 2 of Tuyen Quang Provincial Police participated in blood donation.

These are noble gestures, blood donation to save lives of comrades of the People's Public Security for patients with anemia, practically celebrating the 80th anniversary of the Traditional Day of the People's Public Security of Vietnam (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025); 20 years of the National Day for National Security Protection (August 19, 2005 - August 19, 2025).

According to Doctor Duong Hong Chuyen, Ha Giang General Hospital, currently, at Ha Giang General Hospital, many patients with Thalassemia (congenital hemolytic anemia) are in need of regular blood transfusions to sustain life. This is a genetic disease that cannot be completely cured, and patients must receive blood transfusions for life.

Meanwhile, the hospital's blood reserves are in urgent need, especially blood types O, A, B, AB. This makes treatment of patients, especially children, very difficult.

Police officers donate blood to patients with Thalassemia

With the spirit of "A drop of blood given - A life saved", after the Club posted a call for blood donation, in addition to the participation of the people, there were enthusiastic, thoughtful and timely contributions from police officers. Each unit of blood will be a priceless gift, bringing life and hope to patients who are fighting against diseases every day.
