The My Son World Cultural Heritage Management Board was received in its original state after merging the Departments of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Nam and Da Nang. It is a public service unit under the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Da Nang city, with the function of advising the Department in performing the task of preserving and promoting the value of the My Son Temple and Tower Complex, a World Cultural Heritage Site, a Special National Monument; managing, protecting and developing special-use forests of the My Son World Cultural and Historical Site Landscape Area.
Reporting on the implementation of the work of preserving and promoting the value of My Son heritage, Mr. Nguyen Cong Khiet, Deputy Director in charge of the My Son World Cultural Heritage Management Board, said that favorable aspects such as the attention of all levels, sectors, localities, international organizations, governments of countries, especially the cooperation of the local community have contributed to the effective implementation of programs and plans for management, preservation, and restoration of the heritage site...
Besides, there are difficulties such as: The relic site has a special cultural and spiritual landscape; in the form of archaeological architectural ruins; materials, construction techniques are still mysteries that have not been solved; harsh weather conditions, current climate change. Along with the relic, protecting the surrounding forest area requires a huge amount of human and material resources.

In the current conservation and restoration work of My Son, international cooperation projects are the most prominent and have achieved important results such as: The 3-party project of UNESCO - Vietnam - Italy on "Presentation and training on international standards for the conservation of My Son G tower group".
Bilateral cooperation project between the governments of India and Vietnam to restore the K, H, A tower groups (2017-2022); Project "Vocational training center for relic restoration in Quang Nam" from non-refundable investment from the Italian government.
The project to display "Our Common Heritage" in Laos, Vietnam and Cambodia is sponsored by UNESCO through the Japan Trust Fund; The project cooperates with Mitsubishi Corporation and UNESCO to make the film "My Son - Valley of Gods and Arts"; The project cooperates with India to restore towers E, F in the period 2025-2029.
In addition, domestic cooperation projects are also carried out such as archaeological excavation of streambeds of towers B, C, D; restoration project of tower E7; urgent reinforcement project of tower B3; excavation of tower area K...

Regarding tourism development, revenue from ticket sales and entrance fees is implemented according to Resolution No. 24 dated September 22, 2023 of the People's Council of Quang Nam province on regulations on collection, payment, management and use of some types of fees and charges in Quang Nam province.
The unit regularly coordinates with organizations and individuals to link tours, exchange and provide destination information. Focus on promotion types and information channels to create diversity in tourism promotion.
Tourism products and services are increasingly invested in to diversify such as: Cham folk art performances, tram transfers; Cham brocade weaving performances; relic explanations; "Legendary My Son Night" products; souvenir sales; digital transformation products (automatic explanations and virtual reality tours); space to display local cuisine.
The number of visitors to My Son increases every year.
The number of visitors increases every year, each year is higher than the previous year. In recent years, the average increase is over 10%, the number of visitors reached over 450,000, the target audience is expanding, the visitor market is increasingly diverse. The total number of visitors in the first 6 months of 2025 reached 247,428, an increase of 1.9% over the same period, compared to the plan of 52.2%.
On this occasion, Ms. Truong Thi Hong Hanh, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and a delegation from the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Da Nang conducted a field survey at the Temple Tower Area, learning about the management model, tourist services as well as activities to preserve and promote the value of My Son World Cultural Heritage.
Thereby opening up many opportunities to connect and promote tourism in My Son in particular and Da Nang in general, contributing to spreading the cultural and historical values of My Son Temple Complex to a large number of domestic and foreign tourists.

The My Son World Cultural Heritage Management Board also proposed a number of issues in heritage management and conservation in the new context.
In particular, there is related content on My Son Planning orientation 2035 and vision 2050, requesting the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to issue a document recommending the People's Committee of Da Nang City to arrange capital sources, approve the cost estimates for planning and other costs related to planning work; assign the investor agency; guide the My Son World Cultural Heritage Management Board to implement in accordance with current legal regulations.
The proposal for the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to prioritize the early opening of the river tourism route to My Son via the Han River (Han River/Thu River Port is currently in operation) - Vinh Dien River - Thu Bon River (investing in a wharf right at Giao Thuy Bridge) has been stated in the project to develop waterway tourism until 2030 with a vision to 2045 because this is a new type of tourism, with a rich cultural heritage, contributing to attracting tourists.
