This morning, at the National Military Training Center 4 (Hanoi), the Army and Police forces, along with weapons and equipment, participated in the parade and march in the 4th combined training ceremony to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day, September 2.

The weather in the Center this morning was erratic with heavy rain followed by strong sunshine.

General Phan Van Giang, Minister of National Defense, shared: “Your clothes will be wet, and your weapons and equipment will need to be preserved. We hope that we will try to overcome the weather conditions to complete the mission well...

If it rains on National Day - the main day of the parade - we still have to walk well. Not because of the weather, not because of wet clothes, not because of our faces covered in rain, we cannot walk well. There is no time for us to do it again.

The Minister shared that in 1985, he attended the parade celebrating the 40th anniversary of the founding of the country, and it was raining heavily like today.

“Time never comes back but memories will stay with us forever,” the Minister emotionally shared.

The Minister of National Defense said that since the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory, the 50th anniversary of national reunification and this time the 80th anniversary of the founding of the country, each day, each step, each action, each deed and the determination of the forces participating in the parade have become much stronger.

Notably, 15% of officers and soldiers are ethnic minorities, nearly 54% of officers and soldiers have graduated from university.

“Many comrades volunteered. There were groups of 100% of comrades volunteering to participate in the parade this time. From that, we can see that the will, responsibility, national pride, patriotism of our officers, soldiers, and youth are now very high,” the Minister commented.

General Phan Van Giang praised and acknowledged the efforts of the forces participating in the parade, especially the officers and soldiers who had difficult circumstances but had overcome and put aside personal matters to participate in the extremely meaningful task.

“I really admire the comrades who participated in all three parades, from May 7, 2024 to now. Many comrades participated in two parades. There were cases where both husband and wife participated in the parade. This is something to be respected in light of each comrade's responsibility to the collective, to the Fatherland, and to the country,” General Phan Van Giang expressed.

In particular, the General highly appreciated the parade and marching of the female groups and the military band group...

Regarding the vehicles of both the Army and the Police, Minister Phan Van Giang commented that "they ran very well and smoothly", and at the same time hoped that the forces would recreate this beauty and strength on the official day of the celebration so that each step would become stronger and more majestic.

He mentioned the extremely proud image when officers and soldiers of the Army Officer School 1 attended the parade at Red Square on May 9. The moment the red flag with a yellow star fluttered over Red Square, the screen showed the image of General Secretary To Lam and his wife Ngo Phuong Ly, making the people extremely proud.

The vehicle blocks involved in the synthesis of training

The Minister hopes that the soldiers participating in the parade on September 2 will recreate the actions, beauty, and strength of the soldiers parading on Red Square.

International guests and friends from all over the world, when watching the parade, marching, looking at the Army, Police, militia and guerrillas as well as other forces, will clearly see the solidarity demonstrated through this strength.

Every block must be the same

He also said that this is the first time the force protecting the sovereignty of the sea and islands has participated in the parade, with the following forces: Navy, Coast Guard, and Border Guard.

General Phan Van Giang emphasized that this is also an opportunity for Vietnam to affirm to the world that we have sufficient forces and military branches... to ensure domestic security and firmly protect the Fatherland.

He also said that at the parade on the occasion of National Day September 2, accompanying the armed forces will be friendly countries such as China, the Russian Federation, Laos, and Cambodia.

There is not much time left until the celebration day, General Phan Van Giang requested the Parade and Marching Subcommittee to direct the units to organize scientific training, promptly draw lessons for each individual; continue to ensure logistics and scientific living habits to ensure safety and maintain health, preparing for the official day.

“Not only must a hundred people be as one, but every block must be as one. Even the walking block, the standing block, the vehicle block, and all the forces that support us, including the comrades who march and march, the military band must be as one... We have tried, and we hope that in the remaining time we will be more determined,” the Minister noted.

From now until the official ceremony, there are two more rehearsals at Ba Dinh Square (one during the day, one at night). He believes that this is a good opportunity for the media to gain experience and bring out the best images.

The Minister of Defense believes that the parade and marching activities in the upcoming celebration will be a great success, bringing pride to the people, the country and each officer and soldier.
