Nearly 100 athletes participate in the 2024 Provincial Table Tennis Championship

The 2024 Provincial Table Tennis Championship is a sports activity to celebrate major holidays of the province, such as: 99 years of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2024); 24 years of Vietnam Family Day (June 28, 2001 - June 28, 2024) and 117 years of Lao Cai Province's founding (July 12, 1907 - July 12, 2024).

Attending the opening ceremony were leaders of the Department of Culture and Sports, the Provincial Sports Training and Competition Center and nearly 100 athletes from 11 table tennis clubs in the province.

Athletes compete in 7 events: men's singles, women's singles, men's doubles, women's doubles, mixed doubles, men's team, women's team.

After the opening ceremony, a number of matches took place in the men's and women's singles events (photo below).

The tournament is a playground for table tennis enthusiasts; contributing to the expansion and development of the physical exercise and sports movement in the province, thereby improving people's health.

The closing ceremony and awards ceremony are scheduled to take place at noon on June 23.
