This fluctuation was in line with the London and New York exchanges, reflecting investors' cautious sentiment due to weak buying power and increased profit-taking demand after a series of price increases.

Robusta Coffee Price London July 17, 2025
On the London Stock Exchange, the online price of Robusta coffee futures for September 2025 delivery closed the trading session on July 17 at $3,427/ton, up slightly by 0.56% ($19/ton) from the previous session. The November 2025 futures contract increased by 1.1% ($37/ton) to $3,396/ton.
New York Arabica Coffee Price July 17, 2025
On the New York Stock Exchange, the price of Arabica coffee for delivery in September 2025 increased by 3.73% (11.1 US cents/pound) to 308.45 US cents/pound. The contract for delivery in November 2025 increased by 3.67% (10.65 US cents/pound) to 300.9 US cents/pound.
Arabica coffee prices have surged as traders rush to get as much Brazilian coffee into the United States as possible before the 50% tariff that Mr Trump has threatened to impose on the world’s largest coffee grower takes effect on August 1.
Because if the tariffs are imposed, they would virtually stop the flow of coffee from Brazil to the United States.
The Brazilian Coffee Exporters Association (Cecafe) said that negotiations are currently at an advanced stage regarding coffee trade with the United States.
“Among the different areas of trade with the United States, we see that the discussions are very active and there is a specific focus on coffee,” Cecafe CEO Marcos Matos said at a press conference.
According to Cecafe's report, Brazil's green coffee exports in June decreased by about 31% compared to the same period last year, down to 2.3 million bags (60kg/bag).
Of which, Brazil - the world's largest coffee producer and exporter, exported 1.82 million bags of Arabica coffee, down nearly 27%, while Robusta coffee exports fell sharply by about 42%, to only 476,334 bags.
In the 2024-25 coffee crop year from July 2024 to June 2025, Brazil’s green coffee exports are expected to decline by 5.4% year-on-year to 41.38 million bags, with total revenue (including processed coffee exports) reaching a record $14.7 billion.
Meanwhile, robusta coffee prices only increased slightly after news that the US had reached a trade agreement with Indonesia with a tariff rate of 19% instead of 32% as previously announced.
According to the US Department of Agriculture (USDA), Indonesia, a major producer of robusta coffee, exported 726,000 bags (60kg/bag) of raw coffee to the US between March 2024 and February 2025, making it a relatively important supplier.
Meanwhile, the US is currently the world's leading coffee consumer, consuming more than 25 million bags of raw coffee each year and importing almost all of it.
