The tournament ends on July 5.
According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Chien - Deputy Head of the Sports for All Department - Vietnam Sports Department, folk dance sports are becoming a strong movement in all provinces and cities, attracting a large number of young people, workers, civil servants, and the elderly to participate.
With the harmonious combination of physical exercise and artistic elements, folk dance not only helps improve health and flexibility, but also contributes to enriching spiritual and cultural life, connecting the community, building a healthy cultural environment in families, residential areas, agencies, schools, and businesses.
This year's tournament also has practical significance in guiding, standardizing and developing the folk dance and sports movement, avoiding spontaneous organization, lack of synchronization, and failure to comply with professional regulations.
This is also a concrete step to implement the Strategy for Physical Training and Sports Development and the Strategy for Vietnam's Cultural Development to 2030, with a vision to 2045, in line with the needs of modern society.
"Not only an artistic playground, the Tournament also aims to encourage the whole population to participate in physical training and sports, improve health, physical strength, and prevent diseases; create a healthy playground for clubs and athletes to exchange and share experiences, thereby promoting the folk dance and sports movement to become increasingly professional, standardized, and sustainably developed.
Thereby, contributing to creating motivation for localities, agencies, units and enterprises to pay attention to and invest in developing the folk dance and sports movement, serving the goal of "Healthy to work, study, build and protect the Fatherland", said Ms. Nguyen Thi Chien.
