On August 13, Mr. Nguyen Vu Linh, director of Bach Ma National Park (Hue City), said that recently the unit has implemented many measures to preserve and breed white pheasants in the wild.
Accordingly, through research, investigation and monitoring of biodiversity, the national park force recorded that the number of white pheasants in the wild here tends to increase.
Many groups of tourists coming here to visit have often seen white pheasants frolicking around and foraging, creating an interesting experience.
Mr. Nguyen Van Sum (residing in Hue City) said that during a recent visit to Bach Ma National Park, his group was lucky enough to see white pheasants foraging in the middle of the forest many times.
"Not just once but many times we encountered this animal listed in the Red Book, freely roaming around in the forest.
Seeing white pheasants with your own eyes as well as many rare animals such as langurs, monkeys, pheasants... in Bach Ma forest is not something rare," said Mr. Sum.

According to Mr. Nguyen Vu Linh, however, conservation work still faces many challenges due to shrinking habitats, the appearance of natural enemies and the risk of illegal hunting.
Bach Ma National Park has increased patrols, removed traps, and stepped up propaganda to raise awareness of wildlife protection.
At the same time, rescue, breeding and re-release of white pheasants into the natural environment.

From 2022 to now, Bach Ma garden has successfully bred 24 individuals. Some individuals were received from Cuc Phuong National Park ( Ninh Binh ) and exchanged with Ho Chi Minh City Zoo to increase gene diversity and avoid inbreeding.
Mr. Linh said that in the coming time, Bach Ma will continue to cooperate with domestic and foreign organizations and local authorities to preserve white pheasants, strictly handle violations, and contribute to enriching the ecosystem of Truong Son forest.
