The tournament was organized by the Vietnam Sports and Physical Training Department, the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports in coordination with the Vietnam Skating and Roller Federation on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025); Continuing to respond to the Campaign "All people exercise following the example of great Uncle Ho".
Mr. Pham Xuan Tai, Deputy Director of Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports spoke at the ceremony.
The National Championship is the highest arena in Vietnam for Roller Sports, held annually for excellent athletes nationwide to compete. Through the tournament, experts will evaluate the quality of training and coaching of athletes in provinces and cities nationwide and select athletes for the national team to prepare for international Roller Sports competitions, including the 33rd SEA Games in December 2025 in Thailand.
Taking place over 3 days (from August 15 to 17) at the National Sports Complex (Hanoi), the 2025 National Championship and National Age Group Championship for Roller Sports will have the participation of more than 200 athletes from 12 provinces and cities: Bac Ninh, Ho Chi Minh City, Hai Phong, Thanh Hoa, Lao Cai, Quang Ninh, Thai Nguyen, Dong Thap, Tay Ninh, Dong Nai, Son La and Hanoi, competing in the categories: Speed roller skating, Artistic roller skating, Skateboarding.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Pham Xuan Tai, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports, Head of the Organizing Committee - said: "This tournament is not only the highest tournament of Roller Sports Vietnam, but also an opportunity for us to together light the fire of passion, aspiration to rise and spread the spirit of solidarity - courage - creativity of athletes in the integration period. Roller Sports is a sport that combines speed, technique, strength and flexibility, requiring perseverance and constant breakthroughs. It is this spirit that has created the impressive achievements of Vietnamese Sports in recent times and we believe that, from today's slides, there will be more talents to shine, contributing to raising the position of our country's sports in the international arena".
In recent years, the Roller movement in localities has developed strongly, athletes have been invested in more systematically and professionally, thereby helping the tournament increase its competitiveness.

"This year, the tournament has gathered all the high-level athletes, helping to improve the competitiveness and professionalism of the tournament. This is the result of the attention and investment from the localities. In previous years, the Roller movement in Ho Chi Minh City was superior to other localities in the country. However, in recent years, the gap between localities has gradually narrowed. Some localities that were previously ranked only at the average level have now risen to the leading positions" - Ms. Trinh Trinh Thi Trang, General Secretary of the Vietnam Skating and Roller Federation said.
The 2025 National Roller Sports Age Group Championship is now in its third year, aiming to evaluate the quality of training young athletes of units and localities as well as create opportunities for athletes to participate in competitions, improve professional achievements, and accumulate experience to prepare for tasks in the following years.
At the end of the tournament, the Organizing Committee will award gold medals, silver medals, bronze medals and certificates to individuals with the best achievements in each category, ranked from First to Third, and an Encouragement Prize for Fourth place.
