Fallen tree on Highway 2 causes traffic jam

Due to the impact of heavy rain and whirlwinds, at around 5:30 p.m. on August 17, at Km21 and Km22 +500 of National Highway 2 through Vi Xuyen commune, several large trees suddenly fell across the road, crushing a car and breaking an electric pole on the side of the road. The incident caused traffic on the route to be partially blocked for several hours.

Immediately after the incident, functional forces and local authorities were present at the scene, deploying remedial measures. Cranes, saws and specialized equipment were mobilized to move fallen trees, and at the same time fix the electrical problem to ensure the safety of the people.

Traffic police were promptly present at the scene to ensure traffic.

The incident did not cause any human casualties, however, the vehicle was damaged and many other vehicles had to stop and wait for traffic or move along the bypass of Vi Xuyen town (old).

Currently, the authorities are working hard to overcome the consequences of the natural disaster. It is expected that the road will be reopened in about 1 hour.
