After discussion, the Ho Chi Minh City Fine Arts Association honored 7 works within the framework of the Fine Arts Award for silk paintings. Specifically, the work Em by Le Thi Que Huong won first prize with 35 million VND. Second prize went to the work Tre mang by Tran Lu Thanh Thanh. Authors Vu Tran Anh Nguyen and Le Thi Anh Yen were awarded third prize with 2 works, Twilight and Ninety, respectively.
In addition, the Ho Chi Minh City Fine Arts Association also awarded three consolation prizes to authors including Huynh Thi Kim Tien ( Fisherman's Happiness) , Pham Long Thuy Truc ( Light Echoes ) and Nguyen Dang Khoat ( Southern Impressions ).
The exhibition and the Fine Arts Award for silk paintings are part of the event celebrating the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day, September 2, organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Fine Arts Association. The competition aims to honor and promote the strengths of traditional materials in the painting industry, spreading the love for silk paintings as well as the love for the homeland and country.

According to the organizers, the contest received 163 works by 116 authors from provinces and cities across the country. The art council selected 114 paintings by 89 authors for display.
Mr. Nguyen Xuan Tien - Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Fine Arts Association said: "The works submitted to the contest show the dedication of the artists, with ideas about love for family, society and country. There are many works that deserve awards, causing the council to hesitate and discuss a lot to choose 7 works to award prizes."
