Vietnam women's team will face Japan women's team in the 2024 Olympic qualifiers
According to the announced results, the girls in red fell into group C with the presence of Japan, India and Uzbekistan.
In this round, the biggest opponent of the Vietnamese women's team is Japan - the team ranked 2nd in Asia and 11th in the world .
Besides, the Indian women's team is ranked 11th in Asia and 61st in the world. While Uzbekistan is ranked 10th in Asia and 50th in the world.
With such a group, coach Mai Duc Chung and his team are expected to face many difficulties in competing for tickets to the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Also according to the draw results, in group A there are the women's teams of Australia, Taiwan, Philippines and Iran.
Group B includes the women's teams of China, South Korea, Thailand and North Korea.
The teams will compete in a round robin format. The top three teams in each group and the second-placed team with the best record will advance to the next round.
Here, 4 teams are divided into two pairs and compete in a home-away format. The two winning teams will have tickets to the 2024 Paris Olympics.
With such a harsh competition format, it will be very difficult for the Vietnamese women's team to win a ticket to Paris next year.
