The Toyota Cup 2024 National U9 Football Tournament is organized by the Young Pioneers and Children Newspaper in collaboration with the Vietnam Football Federation. This is the youngest tournament in the national football competition system. The tournament takes place from August 10-20, 2024 in Pleiku City, Gia Lai Province; gathering about 392 players from 28 teams from provinces and cities nationwide.
The tournament is organized to discover talented players to nurture talent, implementing the strategy of developing Vietnamese football in the period of 2021-2030. The Toyota Cup National U9 Football Tournament was held for the first time in 2021 with the participation of 16 teams from 16 provinces and cities. Many young U9 players have continued to be trained in the current children's (U11) and youth (U13) age groups.

Mr. Le Chi Binh, Football Coach, Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Tri said: “The Quang Tri U9 football team participated in the tournament with 14 players. With the attention and support both materially and spiritually from the leaders of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, player Truong Van Thai Quy ( Hanoi FC), Quach Tinh Artificial Football Field, Tien Ha Sport and many other sponsoring businesses and individuals, along with parents, the Quang Tri U9 football team has organized a systematic training session, perfected techniques and tactics and is ready to compete with U9 football teams nationwide.
This is the first time the Quang Tri U9 football team has participated in the national U9 football tournament, so the goal is to help the players have the opportunity to meet, exchange, compete and learn from experience; at the same time, it also lays the foundation for Quang Tri youth football to have many opportunities to develop in the future."
