Here, the delegation visited Thanh Hai Agricultural Cooperative and Luc Son Agricultural Service Cooperative. Luc Son Agricultural Service Cooperative (Luc Son commune) has 70 members with 50 hectares of longan, of which more than 10 hectares meet GlobalGAP standards; the estimated output is 8 tons/ha. This season, for the first time, fresh longan of the Cooperative was exported to the Australian market by The Garden Vietnam Joint Stock Company. Since the beginning of the season, the enterprise has exported 10 tons of longan to Australia; currently, it is preparing to export the next shipment of 6 tons of fruit. According to the enterprise representative, the unit will continue to closely coordinate with cooperatives to purchase and package to expand the export output of longan in the coming time.

At Thanh Hai Agricultural Cooperative (Chu Ward), the delegation visited the fresh longan processing and packaging line. The Cooperative has now been granted a packaging code for longan products exported to the Australian market. This is a unit with many years of experience in packaging lychees for export to the European market. Currently, the Cooperative packages an average of about 1 ton of fruit per day that is eligible for export.

Through the visit to the production model and packaging facility, the delegation highly appreciated the promotion of production according to the growing area code associated with the organization of production in cooperatives, production linkages and product consumption according to the value chain of farmers. At the same time, it acknowledged the initiative of enterprises in participating in the successful export linkage of fresh longan to the Australian market. In the coming time, the relevant departments and branches of the province will continue to create conditions and support to promote and open up opportunities for the consumption market of longan, one of the province's key agricultural products.

It is known that the whole province currently has 3,641 hectares of longan, with an estimated output of 24,183 tons. Of which, late-ripening longan is over 600 hectares, the production area according to VietGAP standards is 2,500 hectares, meeting VietGAP standards is 10 hectares, meeting GlobalGAP standards is more than 10 hectares. Longan harvest time is from July 25 to September 20. Up to now, the whole province has harvested about 12,000 tons; concentrated in communes and wards such as: Luc Son, Dong Ky, Phuong Son...
