Dinh Bac: U23 Vietnam will bring joy to fans on National Day September 2

(Dan Tri) - On the afternoon of September 1, before the training session of U23 Vietnam in Phu Tho, striker Nguyen Dinh Bac shared about the team's preparation as well as the determination before the opening match of the 2026 U23 Asian qualifiers.

According to Dinh Bac, the team only had a few days to gather but did not encounter many difficulties because most of the players had just competed successfully together at the 2025 Southeast Asian U23 tournament. In addition, the presence of rookie Tran Thanh Trung added to the excitement.

“Thanh Trung integrated very quickly, was cheerful and united with the whole team. Trung is a quality player and I believe he will play well in the upcoming matches,” Dinh Bac commented.

Sharing about the opponents, the striker of U23 Vietnam affirmed that the whole team is highly focused on each match. "We have absolute respect for all three opponents. First, the whole team will focus on preparing for the opening match against U23 Bangladesh.

The U23 Vietnam team is determined to achieve good results to bring joy to fans, especially on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the country's National Day on September 2nd," Dinh Bac said.

The young striker born in 2004 emphasized that the players all feel proud and happy to compete in this historic moment for the nation, and are determined to fight their best to win a ticket to the 2026 AFC U23 Championship finals.

The Hanoi Police Club players also sent a message to the audience: "We really hope that fans will come to Viet Tri Stadium to cheer and give the team more strength to compete well and achieve the set goals."

On the evening of September 1, the U23 Singapore team led by coach Firdaus Kassim arrived in Phu Tho . After a 4-hour flight from Changi Airport (Singapore), coach Firdaus Kassim and his team were warmly welcomed by the local organizing committee, who presented them with flowers and wished them success in Group C.

To prepare for the tournament, U23 Singapore brought 24 players, many of whom are currently playing in the S-League national championship. Notably, the team has the presence of Japanese-born defender Junki Yoshimura, a player of the Albirex Niigata Singapore club.

Despite being the team that arrived in Vietnam the latest compared to U23 Bangladesh and U23 Yemen, U23 Singapore still had thorough preparation after going through a training trip in Portugal in early August. The team from the Lion Island also achieved positive results in recent friendly matches: drawing with U23 Philippines and winning against U23 Malaysia.

According to the plan, on September 2, U23 Singapore will have its only training session at the Phu Tho Province Sports Complex. Coach Firdaus Kassim and his team will play their opening match against U23 Yemen at 4pm on September 3 at Viet Tri Stadium.
