The Corporation has proactively ensured electricity for major holidays and events and safely operated the system during the peak heat wave in early June when demand for consumption increased. In parallel with production and business tasks, EVNNPC has promoted restructuring and streamlining the organization according to EVN's orientation and in accordance with new administrative boundaries. To date, the Corporation has merged and reduced from 27 to 17 Power Companies; at the same time, the grassroots organization model has been transformed towards unification with 263 regional Power Management Teams, in accordance with operational reality and management areas.
The first 6 months of 2025 marked a difficult and challenging period for EVNNPC. The fluctuations of the global economic and political situation, especially the US tariff policy and geopolitical conflicts, have strongly impacted the production activities of many large industrial customers. Some solar panel manufacturing enterprises in Thai Nguyen, Bac Giang , and Quang Ninh were forced to cut production, causing electricity consumption to decrease by about 140 million kWh per month.

Overcoming challenges, maintaining the current
In addition, strict environmental regulations in some localities such as Bac Ninh have also caused many industrial clusters to temporarily suspend operations, causing a decrease of about 400 million kWh of commercial electricity. Unusual weather conditions, with hot weather appearing later than usual; natural disasters and storms occurring in many areas have caused significant damage to the power grid system, with a total estimated value of more than 11 billion VND at Power Companies.
Faced with such pressures, EVNNPC has proactively applied synchronous solutions, promoted the spirit of solidarity and creativity of all officers and employees to excellently complete the assigned tasks. Total commercial electricity output in the first 6 months of the year is estimated at 50.27 billion kWh, up 5.49% over the same period and reaching 46.16% of the yearly plan. Total revenue of the Corporation is estimated at 103,713.3 billion VND, up 12.38%. Power loss continued to decrease sharply, to 3.52% - 0.48% lower than the plan assigned by EVN. Losses at all voltage levels decreased, of which the 110kV grid was 0.79%, medium voltage 1.70% and low voltage 3.99%. Power supply reliability indexes all improved, the number of 110kV grid incidents decreased by 37 compared to the same period, the SAIDI index for planned works decreased by 15.79%.
Investment and construction work continues to be a bright spot when EVNNPC has completed energizing 50 projects, started 17 new projects - contributing to improving power supply capacity, preventing overload and meeting the needs of socio -economic development in localities. Along with upgrading technical infrastructure, customer service has been promoted thanks to comprehensive digital transformation. By the end of June 2025, the rate of customers making non-cash payments reached 95.76%, an increase of 7.18% over the same period, exceeding the target assigned by EVN. 19/27 Power Companies have completely eliminated cash collection counters, 100% of electricity services are provided online at level 4, and the time to handle customer requests exceeds regulations.
Power grid maintenance
In particular, in that context, EVNNPC is still determined to implement the Project of restructuring and streamlining the organizational apparatus. The Corporation has completed the merger of 17 affiliated Power Companies, marking the biggest transformation in 56 years of formation and development. At exactly 0:00 on July 1, 2025, EVNNPC terminated the operations of all district-level Power Companies and established 263 regional Power Management Teams, including 01 Team in Bach Long Vi. The new organizational model is not only modern, streamlined, and flexible, but also helps bring the apparatus closer to the grid and customers, creating an important foundation for EVNNPC to improve its management capacity and service quality in the next development stage.
Ensure safe, economical and stable electricity operation at the end of the year
In the last 6 months of 2025, EVNNPC clearly identified key tasks: ensuring stable power supply, especially during the rainy and stormy season; striving to start construction of 59 and energize 63 110kV projects; continuing to reduce power loss, improve power supply reliability through investment, grid renovation and optimization of operation methods; promoting non-cash payments, perfecting the electronic service ecosystem; strengthening inspection and supervision of electricity purchase and sale to reduce commercial losses; at the same time completing phase 2 of the Project to arrange and streamline the organizational apparatus; strictly controlling finances, ensuring cash flow balance and optimizing production and business efficiency.
At the same time, EVNNPC continues to synchronously deploy technical solutions to ensure safe, continuous and efficient operation of the power system during the peak of hot weather: speeding up the progress of medium-voltage grid investment projects, sharing transformers that exceed the threshold, putting into operation new 110kV transformer stations, strengthening field inspections, promptly handling risks of incidents, fires and explosions, and violations of the grid safety corridor.
Northern Electricity strives to operate safely and economically, ensuring stable electricity supply in the last months of the year.
With the forecast of many more severe heat waves in July and August, the Corporation continues to call on agencies, businesses and people to use electricity economically and effectively: adjust air conditioners to 26-27°C or higher, use cooling fans; limit the simultaneous use of high-capacity electrical equipment, especially during peak hours at noon (13:00-15:00) and in the evening (20:00-23:00); turn off equipment when not in use...
In addition, EVNNPC encourages households, production and business establishments to actively research and invest in rooftop solar power systems according to the self-production - self-consumption model, contributing to reducing pressure on the national grid and moving towards sustainable energy development. Along with professional tasks, EVNNPC will effectively organize activities during the Customer Appreciation Month 2025 and the 11th EVN Pink Week - spreading the image of a business for the community.
With the spirit of innovation, determination and unity, the Corporation continues to affirm its core role in ensuring electricity for sustainable development in the Northern region, contributing to the successful implementation of the country's socio-economic development goals.
