Khanh Hoa: Women and orphans receive Vietnamese Women's Newspaper

This new school year, I have money to buy a new school bag and books, I don't have to carry a torn bag anymore!", Tran Ngoc Thien Phu, a 7th grader, shared when receiving a gift from a benefactor. The gift was small, but for him, it was a happiness at the beginning of the new school year.

Thien Phu's eyes still show the sadness of a child who never grew up in the loving arms of a father or mother. When he was only five years old, his father left, leaving his mother to support her children's education with a meager worker's salary.

For Nguyen Diep Bao Tram (13 years old), the road to school is equally difficult. Her father died in an accident two years ago, and her mother also left. She and her brother live with their grandmother, who is nearly 70 years old, and still does whatever she is asked to do to raise her grandchildren. Upon receiving the gift, she said she would try her best to study well so as not to let everyone down.

Ms. Vo Thi Thu Huong - Tram's grandmother shared: "My grandchild received a gift, and I received the Vietnamese Women's newspaper to read, to gain more knowledge and see that there is still much love in life around me."

According to Ms. Do Thi Kim Anh - President of the Women's Union of Dien Lac Commune (in blue shirt), the first day of school for orphans has many concerns, especially transportation to school and school supplies. Since then, the Women's Union of the commune has coordinated with Tam Duc group and other benefactors to provide support in many different ways to help orphans go to school.

Mr. Vo Quoc Tuan - a benefactor shared: "I am sending an additional copy of the Vietnamese Women's Newspaper as a way for the ladies here, who are taking care of the children every day, to have more information and knowledge about raising children, as well as to find sharing and empathy through stories about women and children. I believe that love always has a way to spread, and the press is also a bridge of compassion like that."
