Dien Bien meets to celebrate the 80th anniversary of August Revolution and National Day September 2

Leaders of Dien Bien Provincial Party Committee presented gifts to former Dien Bien veterans and soldiers.

Welcoming 400 delegates who are veterans, former police officers, Agent Orange victims, policy families, leaders, officials and people of Dien Bien province attending the meeting, comrade Tran Tien Dung, Deputy Secretary of Dien Bien Provincial Party Committee, said that today's meeting towards the great national holiday is an opportunity to review the heroic history and express gratitude to generations of fathers and grandfathers who sacrificed their blood and bones to gain independence and freedom for the nation.

Comrade Tran Tien Dung affirmed: The August Revolution opened a new era in the history of the Vietnamese nation. It transformed a backward feudal and colonial country into an independent, democratic and free nation; our people changed from being slaves to becoming masters of the country and their own destiny. The August Revolution left invaluable historical lessons for the cause of building and defending the socialist Vietnamese Fatherland, which is not only of great significance to Vietnam but also of great significance to the international community.

Veterans and people with meritorious services to the country attended a meeting to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day, September 2, in Dien Bien province.

In the country's development journey over the past 80 years, promoting the revolutionary tradition and heroic Dien Bien Phu spirit, in the period of 2020-2025, Dien Bien Provincial Party Committee has focused on leading and directing the effective implementation of the goals and tasks set out in the Resolution of the 14th Provincial Party Congress: The economy has developed quite well, with an average growth rate of 8.76%/year, the economic structure has shifted in a positive direction; the investment and business environment has been significantly improved, attracting many investors to survey, research, propose and implement projects in the province. Socio-economic infrastructure, especially transport, urban and service infrastructure, has been gradually invested and completed. Cultural and social aspects have made much progress, education, health care and health care for the people have been effectively implemented.

Synchronously and effectively implement poverty reduction policies, social security policies, support the construction of Great Solidarity houses, eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses for over 22,300 poor households; the poverty rate decreased from 37.51% in 2020 to 17.66% in 2025 (an average decrease of 3.97%/year) ; the great solidarity bloc of ethnic groups was strengthened. National defense, security, social order and safety are ensured; borders and landmarks are firmly protected, territorial sovereignty and national border security are maintained.

Comrade Tran Tien Dung requested Party committees and authorities at all levels, veteran revolutionaries, cadres, party members, armed forces and people of all ethnic groups in Dien Bien province to continue promoting the heroic Dien Bien Phu tradition in the renovation process, competing to successfully implement the goals of the resolutions of party congresses at all levels to work towards the goal of "Rich people, strong country, democratic, equitable and civilized society" and together continue to write new pages of history, heroic pages of history of the nation.

Promoting the heroic spirit and atmosphere of the August Revolution and National Day September 2, at the meeting, Comrade Mua A Vang, alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Dien Bien province, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dien Bien province, called on all walks of life in the province to continue to promote the spirit of great solidarity, mutual love, actively participate in patriotic emulation movements, contributing to building the homeland increasingly prosperous; member organizations of the Front continue to innovate the content and methods of operation, truly be a solid bridge between the Party, the State and the people; continue to preserve and promote historical values, revolutionary traditions, educate the younger generation about patriotism, national pride, and responsibility towards the country.

On this occasion, the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dien Bien province presented 70 gifts to show gratitude to veterans, families of policy beneficiaries and revolutionary veterans...

At the Sports Congress, cadres and people of all ethnic groups in Nam Ke border commune (Dien Bien province) vowed to strive to fulfill their tasks well, building and protecting a peaceful border.

Also on the morning of August 28, in the two border communes of Muong Nhe and Nam Ke (Dien Bien province), the Sports Congress, the Patriotic Emulation Congress and the Ethnic Cultural Festival were solemnly held, with the participation of thousands of cadres, civil servants, students, soldiers of the armed forces and people of all ethnic groups in the area.
